I totally hear you man.. I have been in your shoes before.. and to be honest, I will probably get in trouble from the wife for spending this much on a game that I won't even get to play for over a month! lol

Whether or not you are able to financially support the game it's people like you, who have a passion for the franchise, that keep things real. I am able to support financially but that doesn't mean your support isn't just as valued in the scheme of things.

Support the game if you can. But if you cant afford it, no one will hold that against you.

The Dev's deserve to get paid for the work they do. Surely no-one would expect them to spend the time they do just because they love the game. (Which they definitely seem to!)
