I was wondering if my ravens build was good here it is: 1xER PPC 1xSSRM2 6 STD HS and a 195 STD engine
I also am saving up for another raven to give it a large pulse laser and SSRM2

I was kinda looking at this the other day because it seems like an unwanted variant.
I was kinda looking at 2xLL, SMR6 OR SSRM+BAP, XL245
either that or 1 LPL + 3 ML

I had good success with this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...bd343ab17cc85e6
You can of course run PPCS:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...58dc0986eeec23a
Or go a bit cooler and faster:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1d5c689c4c810f3
Or faster still but more close range:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...aabba09026bdf5a
Or spot for others:

Just a few ideas!

It is not the most common build, But 4 MPL's and an SRM 6, with a 260 XL.. It is a nice hit and run mech that packs a good punch. takes a lot of practice though
basically this mech, with a slightly smaller engine, because that is the XL i own.. if you have the money, the 265 is the better choice as they weight the same.. I got my XL-260 in a mech purchase, a Jaeger DD i think

Aye, it's a fairly handy little mech to be honest-I'm a big Raven fan.

had good luck with this, got it elited pretty quickly.
have to get the exact loadout but I think it was 275XL, SRM4+Artemis (maybe it just a regular 4), 1 (ER)LL (can't remember again), 2 ML

Best way to get an engine for the "lesser" ravens is to get a shadowhawk 5M. Slower engines are really rough.
If you absolutely can't do that, throw light weapons on and use a std engine you already have kicking around like a std250/60 or the XL210 that come on your raven 3L.
Ultimately, the 2X is a stepping stone to that elited 3L. By itself, it's outsped, out maneuvered, and outgunned by smaller, sturdier jenners and firestarters. A raven 3L, however, is great at peeking and poking, providing ECM support, and has a couple niches in solo drops that haven't gone away with the clans' appearance.

check out smurfy,, Pick up a mech that has the XL you want.. XL-210, XL 255, XL-260, XL-275, XL-280, XL-300, XL-320 are all very good engines, used in some very popular mech set ups.. I basically spent the last 6 months buying mechs with all these engines, to level the mechs i already had and i am so glad i did. the best part is i now have a stalker, cicada, Jager, wolverine, and centurians to now master as well! The part about having to buy the other mechs will come easy, as i already did the hard part by buying the expensive ones
I bought engines when i first started, some STD's and a XL-280.. Now i have mulitple engines of ones i purchased just by getting mechs. Wish i had known then, as i could of saved about 6-7m.. Not a ton, but i would of had another great mech, Or at the very least could of bought that Cap module i have been saving for what seems like ever... Darn XL-engine addiction!

I've been messing around with mounting 2 PPCs in the torso and an SRM in the other torso and stripping the armor off the arms for weight, sort of like a shadowhawk.
Like this:
Bumblebee
Or if you don't want to pay for endo-steel, lose the SRM.
The original build used 2 ER PPCs and that was... not good. But the idea was something different from my 4X that wouldn't cost too much money that I wouldn't get back.
