The above is a game currently in development based on the dreaded F2P model.
The game itself looks interesting from the forums and feedback from the devs and it's nice to at least see them laying out how the game is going to work.
It is however in the very early stages!

Probably give games like WOT a run for their money assuming it ends up as intended.

it can be found at :- http://aw.my.com/

Yet another arcade tank simulator, so original. And here I was hoping for Battletech armoured vehicles, like, say, http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Epona 50 tons, 150 kph, all for mere 2,905,333 C-bills? Yes, please!

I guess PGI right now is just too busy working on, well, all those delayed promises. I would imagine creating a tank in MWO from scratch, other than tracks/wheels animations, would be far easier than creating a mech. I mean, you don't have to model/animate any limbs, right?

Yes, and modelling aircraft should be still easier, not speaking of warships :P

Unless you do some evil tricks with texture coordinates on solid geometry, animating tank threads and making it look good is a pain in the [redacted].

I would die for tanks in this game, not necessarily because of my username :P but for scale and to add a little extra mayhem. It's hard to feel like a mech pilot sometimes when there isn't anything smaller than you to crush and blow away.

+10000 on this. The biggest immersion-breaker of MWO for me. Especially so when the low-poly cars look no more than a pile of pixel on the ground and cannot be exploded.
