Welcome back! We've got another screenshot for you guys, this one taken in a playtest we had. The Atlas is clearly having a bad day - man, what a headache. Our hero in his Hunchback seems to have made quite a mess of his opponent - why do you guys think that was? (I still love those explosions!)

If I were to guess, it'd be because he jumped out at the last minute and stole a kill. Or maybe, the Atlas already dealt with his 'friend'. Thoughts? Post them below!

See you again next week!

Sounds like somebody defending the dropship and suddenly this wounded atlas pops up, trying to capture it, thinking nobody is defending it... BOOM HEADSHOT!

Lots of Med lasers or testlab01 is just better than testlab03.

It looks like the swayback did a great job of focusing all his fire on the center torso. Also by the reload time things on his weapons it looks like he is using his weapons efficiently and has them set up in more then 1 group to manage his heat better. Also the swayback has took very little damage so ether the atlas was already very damaged or was a very bad aim.

Wow, I see they're making lots of progress:
1. The Swayback, of course.
2. It's the first screenshot showing the XP system (a little)
3. I may be wrong but the counter in the upper part of the screen had always shown 0:0, now it's 1:1.
Keep up the good work! :)

Looks like the HBK-3P runs a bit cooler than we were lead to believe. Or has it been refitted to use DHS?

Looks like we also earn XP for destroying components. I wonder if different components give different amount of XP. (Destroying the cockpit vs. destroying an arm or a leg)

As for what happened, best guess is that whatever friendly is back by the green base softened the Atlas up with a few salvos before the Swayback closed over a small ridge to punch out the torso with a few well-aimed salvos of laser fire.

Why do so many people keep assuming there are dropships in the game? The one time I recall them mentioned was when they announced a plan for a 4 - 'Mech respawn 'Hotdrop' game mode a few months ago. But even then, the dropship is just supposed to drop you onto the battlefield. Nothing was ever said about defending it.

That explosion looks fairly satisfying!

And that Hunchback setup looks perfect for me!
