With today's patch (1.3.306) I now have a large deadzone with my X-52 controller X-Y axis that is making aiming very hard & steering sloppy. I've set both the controller software & in game settings to zero with no apparent effect.
The line in the patch notes regarding the deadzones means nothing to me, "Deadzone for Rudder and Joystick separated (cl_joystick_deadzone and now cl_rudder_deadzone)"
How do I fix this? Please be explicit.
Please spare me the lectures about using the keyboard & mouse instead of the controller. After spending 30+ years of my working life as millwright & truck mechanic and having had a number of injuries to my left hand & wrist, using the keyboard is not an option. Also a new controller is not in the future as I'm now retired & on a fixed income.
Thanks.

Edit your user.cfg file and add these lines:
cl_joystick_deadzone=0
cl_rudder_deadzone=0

I just did a search of program files (x86)/piranha games/MechWarrior online. There is no user.cfg file. Might it be found somewhere else? I remember making one entails using Notepad but don't remember the exact process or where it goes.
I'm old enough to be able to claim "Senior Moment!"
Thanks

The dead zone issue is certainly not just Old Bones.
There is no user.cfg file by default, you need to create it. Just open up a new notepad file, add the config lines and save it as user.cfg.
You need to make sure that it does not end up as "user.cfg.txt".

user.cfg does not exist by default.
If it does not exist in your game directory, create a new text file with that name.

It worked for me, I just loosened up the deadzone a bit afterwards in the controller control panel.
Again, thanks
