I've been gone a few weeks from the game. As the title says, does Radar Deprivation still completely counter Adv. Target Decay? I knew a lot of people thought it was BS when it first released and I had hoped they'd do something to tone it down a bit.

Why would they ever fix this? It's working as intended.

As an owner of Radar Dep, I don't think so. There have been a few times where I've ran behind cover and I didn't hear the little ping that indicates my Radar Dep dropped somebody's lock until a couple of seconds later. I'm guessing that meant that someone had the Target Decay mod.

I might be wrong, though.

I run radar dep on my ECM raven and i STILL get hit for 2-3 seconds after i run behind cover. So...no, its still crap. But, there are others that will tell you that it works fine. Maybe PGI hates me???

or you only broke LOS with one unit and another still had LOS

That is a possibility but in this one instance I could almost swear that it was only the one targeting me. Otherwise, if there was another guy, he would've kept the lock for the LRMs.

There's a thread about this somewhere where this was tested. Radar Dep reduces but does not eliminate the advantage offered by Target Decay.

that seems fair. i just built a lrm boat that has target decay stage 2 module, and it works very well, but i am also running bap and command console on the same rig; so i hold locks for a while unless enemy has ecm

adv target decay was at bit much to begin with. Personally i think adv target decay should only effect a target that YOU had vision on. If you get a target from a teammate you shouldnt get the bonus.

I was thinking about this limitation as well but then I thought better of it when I looked at the bigger picture including role warfare and dedicated spotter mechs.

if the SPOTTER has it then fine you can get the bonus from them but if YOU have it and they dont then no

Radar Deprivation has NEVER completely countered Advanced Target Decay. Still doing the same thing it has always done, which is eliminate the "normal" decay time.
