1) Its not Battletech/Mechwarrior.
2) I dislike PvP.
3) I really, really dislike 3rd person view shooters.
4) The mech's look awful
5) The weapons look worse
However, if they release CW before PGI... *sighs* Who am I kidding. Of course they will.

It is a word for word clone of MWO 2011 and 2012 hype features, right down to using battle mechs.
They even have location based damage, unlike hawken, and are operating based around some kind of primitive RnR system. The mechs are: not-catapult, not-stalker, and not-jenner.
Looks like they were smart enough to implement a points value system for the mechs, so you don't end up with atlases fighting awesomes as if they were equal, or other such nonsense.
This whole thing is hilarious to me.

I was kind of worried that this would be a video of a free game that does everything better than MWO, after I've spent so much time and money on MWO, but... thankfully, Dark Horizons doesn't look appealing at all. It looks like something I'd want my 5 year old child to play, before he or she moved on to MWO.

4 classes of battlemechs
dozens of maps
huge number of customizable weapons
and other stuff like that
so even if its a 3rd person game i will be happy to compensate it against a larger pool of maps, mechs, factions wars etc.

I just realized the HUD is basically copied from MW4.
Can't really find any flaws with the mech animations, models, or special effects, either. Looks like it's made in unity.

umm you do know that its pre-alpha footage and they have already stated that they will be improving the engine and gfx over time...

In terms of improving graphics, I tend to believe that when I see it. I can't think of too many games that looked like crap in pre-alpha, then looked amazing when they were released.
But graphics aren't the major concern I have about that game.

Basically everything is repurposed MW4 stuff or MWO 'inspiration.' Like the hype read-out about community warfare.

That's because it is MW4 in third person.

I helped out the guy back in early early stages of this game. He's a great guy, and he's not in this just to make more money. Honestly that's how I see PGI with MW, not this guy with Dark Horizons. Dark Horizons actually had a game back in 2005, of which this game is based on. Inspired by games like MW4? Obviously. A rip off? Not even close. Lore: Invasion was actually kinda fun for it's time, and in my opinion was a great game in its own right.
The guy's come a long way with this game. Please don't be so quick to judge it.

Would rather try to attach my junk to a methed up weasel with a nail gun.
People who like 3PV are bad people, they should not be trusted and should be subject to the wrath of the Space Marines.

Ah, but their dev team managed to implement offline bot matches in 3 days.
