Just wondering, is it normal that one of my cpu core seems to take the lion share of the usage. Here was an example in test ground.

Core 2, seems to run pretty high, while the other 3 are all about the same. While I was playing I noticed it slowly building up more and more as the game progressed.

I'm not sure a 10-20% difference between cores is particularly odd. I'm also not sure if that is normal for MWO, or if it's system-dependent. I will check mine out tonight to compare. AMD or Intel? What core family? Single or multiple GPU?

I get fluctuations on different cores, it's not an issue.

Phenom II x6 1100t clocked to 4.2GHZ.

Yeah, about that.

Which map? I'm positive Alpine is "easy," what with the lack of water or weather particle effects, but I've never really come up with a list of which one hammers what thread. I can remember thinking Forrest was "hard" 'cause of the trees, when I should have been worried about the water … :)

Most games dont really scale beyond 3 cores.

with a 2500K you've got no reason to complain though, you'll have great performance compared to most.

Start of a match (before moving from spawn, but match has started):

So I'd have to say not fully utilizing cores is pretty normal for MWO. You can also see that it definitely likes 4-6 cores. There's a fairly large amount of connections once a match starts, and bandwidth use actually about doubles once everybody is getting into the action (another place CPU cycles are being spent). I have the game installed on a 1TB velociraptor (V:) and you can see disk queuing happens a little bit, too. So... there's some performance insight. :D
