So after some debate and plenty of help from some very patient forum users, I finally set out on the journey to put together a PC. Before I order any of this stuff, I want to know what you guys all think and if you think this build could run MWO as well as other titles like World of Tanks, War Thunder, World of Warcraft, and more.

Starting with the case : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811147166 $50

Next up the power supply : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139026 $45

Motherboard : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813130741 $58

CPU : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819113348 $90

RAM : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820148540 $74

Hard Drive : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822236339 $60

Comes to a total of $507. My limit for the price of this build is $600. Thoughts and suggestions?

-edit- Oh and a wireless adapter since I dont have a ethernet cable long enough : http://www.newegg.co...N82E16833704133 $38

Brings the total price up to $545

Might want to step up to the 500w power supply. Higher end video cards are power hungry. Its only 5 bucks more.

Might want to think about ddr3 1866 your board supports it. $15 more but i would add this 15 to a videocard if $ is close as the ram is only few percent faster.

As long as you get a good $100+ videocard i see no reason you couldnt play any of these games on max settings.

Ha. I'm an idiot. Completely forgot to share the GFX card. Here we go http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814127762 $130
Also, http://www.newegg.co...9-027-_-Product $50
500w PSU
Not sue what you meant with the ram though.

-Edit- I think this is what you meant. http://www.newegg.co...8-720-_-Product $93

-Edit #2- That brings the total up to $569. I'm going to see if maybe I can upgrade either the CPU or the GPU

yep that's the ram im thinking of but its debatable on the performance increase. 760k for 10 bucks might be a better bang for the buck :P

I like this system , dont forget a dvd drive if you dont have one.

Well if I get the original ram I had then its a single stick of 8gb which will let me get a second stick later, since afaik I only have 2 ram slots. I already have the 760k :3

Oh ****.. Dvd drive. Right. Thats a thing I need. Er. One sec xD

-edit- holy crap. a dvd drive is $53 bucks? http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827106289

try searching for "dvd rw sata"
http://www.newegg.co...6-393-_-Product

14.00 for a cheapo. I dont know much about them. I dont use them often so i always bought the cheapest.

Might really want to think about going with the FX6300 cpu and ams3 board. you will get about a 20% increase in speed for $30 . but you will start going over your budget and 20% wouldnt really matter for the games above.

Yeah I'm already a bit over my budget due to a keyboard and HDMI cable. So I think what I have is what I'm gonna go with. :P
So you think this would be a decent gaming rig? I have the option to add another 8gigs of ram, as well as another gfx card if I have to. And as always, the CPU is upgradable. Of course this is assuming my motherboard can handle it. We'd have to see

I believe I have a better "BANG FOR THE BUCK" build for you right here-

Hell of a lot faster CPU (major point for playing MW:O), faster video card, same amount/speed RAM, and I believe a faster HD. All for $597.

Personally, I think that processor is a waste of money. If you're using a video card, there is absolutely no reason to go for a socket FM2!

That CPU is actually slower out of the box than the 260x. Yes the ram will be faster but not by much. I will give you that the GFX card is better for about the same price so I may look into getting that instead. To be honest Im not 100% positive what I'm looking for in a HD.

I agree with barbaric soul. That's a much better cpu for this game.

mwo needs per-core performance, the intel i5's perform much better at that.

The only thing that's better is the GFX card. And the Ram but only barely. Out of the box the R7 260x outperforms the i5 and I don't plan on overclocking them atm. I'm afraid I would break something

What do you mean the r7 260x out-performs the i5. The i5 is a CPU, the 260X is a video card. And that i5 will run circles around the 760k you listed. But to show you what I'm saying, here-

i5 4440 compared to 760k-
http://www.cpu-world...i5_i5-4440.html

GTX 750ti compared to all modern video cards (R7 260x included)-
http://www.techpower..._750_Ti/25.html

Bottom line, the 4440 is about 38% faster than the 760k in single threaded performance and 59% faster in multi-threaded performance, while the R7 260x only gives 87% of the performance as the 750ti at 1080p. Choice is yours, but the build I listed out is ALOT faster than your build in every shape, form, and fashion.

Oh and BTW, ninjitsu was talking about your CPU (APU actually).

Personally I would not build an AMD APU FM2 socket "ANYTHING" for gaming.

As far as AMD is concerned, I made the decision a while back to jump ship to Intel.

Right now AMD isn't in the best spot, they are "abandoning" their FX series CPUs for a reason.
(I know, I know the CPU you posted is not a STANDARD FX-series CPU)... Doesn't matter.

My Advice, go with that i5 1150 socket intel build that was posted, and buy a good GPU.
And "NO" the FM2 chip you pointed out isn't better then that 1150 socket Intel CPU, not by a long shot, you're only looking at 3.1GHZ versus 3.8ghz speed, and are not taking into account the difference in the architecture of the two CPUs.. Although I would go with a higher clocked intel CPU, but that is just me.

Look up any bench you can find that puts these CPUs against each other...

The AMD 760k is what I'm referring to. Avoid the FM2 socket. go for AM3+ and get an FX processor if you really want to go AMD. There really isn't any price difference and you'll be getting better hardware.

Intel is a much better option at the moment.
