The thing I want isn't generic fluff. I want customize-able items of some sort. I want my cockpit to feel like it's mine and not item collector supreme master cockpit.
Great idea garth or whomever came up with it.

I vote for:
#1 - hula girl / mech bobblehead
#2 - empty / occupied drink holder (beer or soda)
#3 - ashtray (filled with empty cigarette butts)
#4 - roll of duct tape (partially taped to the window or controls)
#5 - pin up calender (with the current page flipped to the current month)
#6 - digital rear view mirror

also not part of the pilots area but after you get a kill the mech kicks the dead mech.
holla is a must something to keep you entertained while lrms are hitting you
a collant flush button
a instant kill a goon button "just one cause you know you want one to die as soon as you hear squak"
tinted cockpit window
a crosshair that turns red when you move over a enemy mech not just with missles
and a 360 def radar not just infront hate when ppl start shooting me in the back and there is nothing on radar

But here are my top three:
1. Hulagirl´s (maybe diffrent ones so we vcan collect them. gonna catch em all!
2. A place where we can put our own pictures
3. A hologram of the board-ai. which gives me mechstatus-reports in a sarcastic/ironic way of talking.

-Eject Button, Caution paint, Warning labels
i was thinking of a sign over the eject handle like "Do not pull unless you really REALLY mean it"
custom paint jobs inside
have a some kind of weapon in a box with a glass window reading "Break in case of Emergency!!!"
and all the a fore-mentioned stuff like cup holders, trinkets, etc etc...

Complete cockpit skins. How about your standard Atlas cockpit, but with a dingy, weathered, near Fallout appearance? Then perhaps a Steiner cockpit skin that has Cadillac style appointments like woodgrain and gold trim? Maybe a slovenly kept one with MRE wrappers strewn about. and instead of large, fuzy dice, how about tiny metallic ones like in the Millenium Falcon?

pin up calander with either new mech chassis or pin up girls, has to show the right month.
Stupid bumper stickers (Does this Atlas have a fat arse?)
Inner shpere comms unit to get news chatter while fighting
radar that works in 360 arc, how come i get shoot in the arse and yet radar can't even pick up where the enemy mech is?
Gameboy so you got a something to play while powered down or wiating for combat
fuzzy dice are a must also
more importantly, i think some kind of hardpoint location for the cockpit and then collectables that we can buy to customized our mech. thats would be a true money spinner
also spilt drink over my controls
i 2nd the idea of a hand that comes out and a comment you stupid peice of crap, power back up you ******* when you over heat

I really did like the Hula Girl idea that many have suggested and would love to see it implemented as a seismic detector. Another variant of this could be a clear plastic cup of water or bottle sitting on a console or in a cup holder. Think Jurassic Park when the T-rex is nearing the vehicle and ripples form on the surface of the water. This would be amazing if it was possible to use this in an ambush scenario where you might not be able to see your enemy while you are shut down, but feel them coming.
Pin up girl suggestion.. yep! Would be neat if this was customizable by the user as well as others have said.
A place to hang your hat would be nice since it has to go somewhere when you have a neurohelmet on. Would be neat to see this customizable with different hat varieties as well.
Many fighter pilots of today have various supplements that they wear as a small "clipboard" attached to their left or right knee. This would purely add more immersion.
That's it for now. I will edit if I think of more.
