Please remember that not all Mech pilots are male. We don't need endless amounts of pinup girls and other "jock" stuff.

Anyway, my top picks before I even looked at the list would be:

Side-arms, ash tray and cigarettes, "demotivational" style posters, random techie notes (like "fixed the squeak on the chair, stop wriggling when your Mech runs", etc).

Of the stuff I have seen that I didn't think of:

Uploading a photo would be a nice touch
Media player would be appreciated by many
Newsfeed is a good one too

I'd also like to see a good range of Faction specific stuff and it'd be good if the cockpits for Faction aligned pilots came with a 'faction standard' look that you can then customize if that's something your pilot would do.

Hello. being from a Chinese House.. in the cars in Hong Kong and in USA Chinatown you'll see mini chinese lanterns. or coins, or dragons. Fu dogs.etc and Ba Qua. (8 diagram warding and good luck charms)

another idea would be make a space for a GF/BF picture. house icon, dog, etc... and let us upload it to cockpit. kinda like a face on forms pages. since its in your own personal cockpit, you would'nt need to worry about someone putting some gross pic. let them have at it.

I'd quite like to see a full dashboard of analogue instruments telling you information on your surroundings that isn't necessarily relevant to gameplay, and some controls that might be inside a 'Mech just for immersion's sake.

For Example:

External and Cockpit Temperature gauges
Altimeter (above sea level)
Wind Gauge
Clock (possibly linked to your PC's clock to tell you the real time)
External Pressure gauge
Ejection handle
Dump Ammo control
Black Box and Telemetry recorder
Shut down/Power up controls

Also, Sidearm, Survival kit and Fire extinguisher.

Some of these things might be too much of a bother to program, such as the dials telling you barely relevant information, but I suggest them because it would make it feel that bit more simmy to me, and I love that side of the game.

-a small potted plant, grow light optional
-survival gear
-choice of miniatures, I liked the t-Rex/stegosaurus idea, but also mech minis
