I'm with Duo here... what are you on about? There is only front and back armor, the side of the mech is mostly considered the 'front' with a bit counting the back (depending on the mech). Its not an exploit, its people using their side TORSO to protect their center.

Torso twisting to absorb more damage is a major part of the game. Which mechs are doing it and causing you grief?

I agree with the OP. Torso twisting to spread damage is a huge problem in this game. Lighter side armor would really help this out.

While we are at it, I think the base speed for all Assault mechs should be no slower than 80kph. I mean, come on...a small engine in a light mech moves it about 100+ kph, why can't the same engine in an Assault move it at least 80 ~ 90kph.

Lastly, I think Mediums and Lights are tricky to use in the current game due to their lack of armor. I think we should bump light mechs armor to 4x that of TT and Mediums 5x that of TT armor values to make them more viable.

Yep, that seem to make perfect sense to me.

LOL. Nope

Also, we need to stop enemy mechs from using the "firing at me" exploit. That ones pure haxxorz.

It's one of the tactics used to protect the center torso.

Use your side torso has a shield.
Your gonna complain because people play smart?

There is no side armor.
There's the front armor of the side torso and center torso + the arms who can be used has shield (Centurion). And the rear armor of the side torso and Center Torso.

But no "Side Armor".

I agree. This exploit needs to be patched as soon as possible, as it's completely wrecking the game.

Also, we need to buff bottom armour. Too many people are blowing up 'Mechs by hiding underneath them. I won't even start on top armour.

no. torso twisting to mitigate damage is 100% fine.

However its pretty dumb that destroyed side torsos give 50% damage reduction. There should be 100% damage transfer to the center torso when a destroyed side torso is hit.

I' m totally with this. At least, no more than 20% of dmg reduction. Yet @ OP: learn L2P, newb

if it were to transfer 100% then ths st section must be removed from the model because the existence of st hitbox provides more than 50% target area to hit and from a much wider angle.

why? battletech has 100% damage transfer. arms and side torsos dont stop existing in battletech, if you keep getting hit there the damage transfers inward. arms getting blown off in MWO actually goes against battetech, the arm should remain intact and transfer damage to the ST and CT.

magical 50% damage reduction on damage transfer is just another silly bandaid for frontloaded pinpoint damage. but if frontloaded pinpoint damage was fixed thered be no need for such bandaids anymore.

give to each mech a bag of fluffy marshmallows and a plastic bendy spoon with which to flick them the only module available shall be the closing of one eye for targeting and it shall be expensive and OP....
