I am currently using 2 GeForce 9600s to run 3 monitors at 1280X1024, but they do not support NVidia surround. I am currently using mostly medium graphics settings, and I am fine with that, I would like a card that can do NVidia surround across 3 monitors at 1600X900 in case I upgrade monitors later. I have a budget of around $150 and I am thinking about getting a GeForce 660. Have any of you guys tried running MWO across 3 monitor on a 660, or have any other suggestion of what card to use?

Thanks,

For that budget I would look into the GTX 750ti which is avg. $140 atm.

Get a used Radeon 7970 from craigslist for around your budget.

A GTX 670 can run three monitors in surround for MWO.

Not sure on a 660, maybe, but probably not well.

With the higher nvidia 600 and 700 cards you can use 2x dvi and hdmi to connect the monitors, with amd cards you probably have to add an active displayport to dvi/hdmi adapter ($30?), unless your monitor has displayport.

My 7970 has 2 dvi, 2 display port, and 1 hdmi.

I think the 660 should work great and you could use sli later if you eventually get another. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814125443

Triple Monitors on a GTX 660..?? Sounds like a 7 to 18 Frames Per Second experience.
.
Throw budget out the window and get a GTX 770 4GB card..
.
http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130945
.
Make sure you have a good enough PSU to run it. :P

EDIT: a GTX 770 with 4gb of Vram will run triple monitors at your resolution like a champ on PEDs.

u will be very very dissapointed if you get a 660 for what you are trying to do, unfortunately budget is a budget but you may want to save a little longer for a 770 as stated above.

I checked PcPartPicker, best you could do is a R7 270 or 660 with your $150 budget

The "used" market is flooded with AMD cards right now that were utilized for mining crypto currency. I just bought (2) 290X for $550.00 shipped on Ebay.

The more Vram you have on a video card the better it will deal with triple monitors..

EDIT: that is not the only determining factor, but it's very important when running multiple monitors. It can be a deal breaker for that application.

Save up for the GTX 770 4gb card.

I would save and wait. For more than two monitors at any decent resolution I would get atleast 4gb ddr5. I have a 270, 2g ddr5 overclocked to 270x speeds, and its decent with 2 monitors but if you want all high settings on new games with decent frame rates (30<) you have to switch to just one monitor. Plus lots of Tech people/ tech reviewers have been saying Amd will probaby be releasing NEW (not rebranded) graphics cards this year (370-390x). And even If you prefer Nvidea its good because they will either have to put out new cards or more likely cut prices to stay competitive.

Hence the GTX 770 (superclocked) 4GB

As I said in my original post I don't care about high or very high grafics settings, and $400 is way over my price range. I could probably push it to $200. With that in mind, does anyone have any suggestions?

i would not suggest a 660 i have two 660 gtxs and i only average about 20 fps. now that is on max with 1080p but even if i turn the graphics down i only gets about a 5 to 7 frame boost and the gpu only runs at about 40 to 30 % in game. for what ever reason it does not like this game.

and no its not my cpu it only runs at 30% in game

I can tell you that there is something amiss here. a single 660 without SLI should get higher than 20FPS.

something is most definitely amiss here, if pgi ever properly implements sli hopefully that will help you. but my 660ti churns out 46-58 fps avg.... amd cpu?
