PGI doesn't visit the island. Any news for them you post here will not be seen by them.

I'm a bit fuzzy on which pronouns go with this...

My loss because PGI uses my money to hire people?
Employee's loss because PGI is bad employer with a strange need to stab their game in the kidney lest it be too fun to play?
Forum's loss because game will improve and QQ will become outdated?

Tell it to me straight doc

Think OP is suggesting PGI go on a hiring spree for former Crytek personnel.

Probably should have put the link above the hiring slots. In fact, I will.

I see PGI finally found a UI developer. Maybe they already scooped up some of the former Crytek staff.

Then again, who would want to move from Texas to Vancover?

Greetings all,

Considering this 'closure' of the Crytek office was some weeks ago, it may already be too late to look for any of that talent.

- All the big companies would have had some advanced inside knowledge of issues or problems with CryTek.
- They would have had feelers and submissions ready for those individuals that they were truly 'interested' in.
- Developers like RSI/Star Citizen would have 'snapped up' any inquiries from these 'now unemployed' individuals.

PGI being a small development studio may not be in a financial position to offer these former CryTek employees similar pay rates or 'perks' they may have had. But a job is a job, so any offers do need to be looked into.

All I can say is it is not looking good for the CryTek Engine development, they seem to have let there one (at the time) great product lapse. Even with MWO the original engine that was licensed/purchased is no where near it's starting state and so far modified that even a CryTek engineer would have some difficulty working in it's code.
- But all that being said, it couldn't hurt to have actual engine engineers employed at PGI. Just the time saved in knowing what and how the engine works and reacts to changes would pay for itself.

Good luck PGI in locating any of these individuals, start at the top and work your way down the list of the 30/40 some people that were available.

One will need that free health care after the heart attack they have after learning the cost of living in Vancouver.

What should concern people is what happens when MWO's engine no longer has any visible means of support or people who understand it's innards well enough when some inevitable major issue comes up.

Then the tears will truly start coming from Cryengine.

You mean, we'd have to wait for a new mechwarrior game to be produced by a new company?

Oh thank the lord

Way to show your ignorance. The economy in Texas is booming. Being the energy capital of the US and also strong in the tech and financial sectors.

Masakari package = less than a day's work.

For some of the oilfield folks a Masakari package = just 2-4 hours of work.

Unless they're paying a half million dollars per year for every job under the sun in Canada, no thanks.

CryTek's former programmers and engineers will have no problem finding new software development gigs in Austin or the other major cities.

I wouldn't. I depend on reliable, quick medical care. Not a system that wants to make people wait until they die before giving them treatment.

PGI might want to hire a makeup girl for the devlog. I would wager that some of the guys have not slept in a longass time and that might scare away potential employees.

Interesting observation. If I understand your logic correctly, should this not translate into a lower life expectancy in Canada vs the USA?

For reference, permit me to present the CIA's listing of countries by life-expectancy: http://en.wikipedia...._CIA_.282012.29

Canada 13, USA 51. :-)

Apparently everyone is not really dying left and right while waiting for treatment after-all...

Statistics can be made to say anything you want. However, the real truth is... The USA is full of fat people who eat themselves to death. It has nothing to do with healthcare. Doctors can't fix people who WANT to have diabetes or worse...

However, when it comes to lifesaving surgery or exams... we get things so much faster here in the U.S. and have control of who we get it from, unlike Canada and the UK. This has been illustrated numerous times in the press among others.
