Did they recently buff the LRMS? I have seen a whole funkton of LRMs since about a week ago. What did they change?

Nothing, they got a slight nerf a week ago.

Most clans carry them for the hardpoint.

You Just ain't been lucky. Noticed them on the down trend myself.

They are part of the timber-alpha, thats why. 6-8 tibers each game = more lrm.

Hmmm ok, I have seen nothing but skies full of blue streaks and yellow globs. Once it was so bad it blocked the sun and we fought in the shade!!!!

LOL, well the only thing they did recently was take out splash damage.

So anybody who can torso twist good survives better from them.

And some mechs that are skinny one way or the other can turn thin side to the lurms and minimize damage with misses.

But really, I have actually seen less. But that is me.

I am really sorry to hear you are seeing more.

That wasn't a nerf, that was a slight improvement. Prior to that patch LRMs could sometimes do no damage to a moving Mech that they hit because the explosion happened after the impact but the Mech could actually move out of the blast radius before it took damage.

Now missiles do pinpoint damage, meaning that they instantly do their damage to the point on the Mech that they hit.

They do seem deadlier to my Jenner especially. They also seem to rain down specifically on my center torso. When I fire LRMs back, they splatter all over the enemy (even with Artemis). Not sure what's up with that.

I think LRM boats have suddenly realized about the pinpoint damage/kill potential of LRMs late game. Most mechs are cored by the late stages of a game and now LRM boats are figuring that they can now get even easier (pansy) kills by hiding around until the end. Pretty sad really :)

Does not seem or feel like pinpoint to me. They look and act more like a LBX from above. Before it was more like a CPPC from above.

NOT trying to start a war of words, but just imagine if all the players LRM boated and hid in the bushes, we would have no game. ON the flip side if everyone ditched LRMs and other "fight from the bushes" weapons and tactics and went for a good ole brawl-out, the game would be 100X better for everyone.

Just saying...

People are pulling out their LRM mechs because they're the only way to shoot enemies out of line of sight of 50 point direwolf alphas.

Everyone has their playstyle they like. Brawling is still possible. You just have to pick the right time.

Just finished eliting a brawler timberwolf, lbx20, 2 Cmpls, 1 Cssrm4. And had many a good match with in your face fighting

But I thought we were promised that Clan mechs won't be able to do pinpoint alphas.. balance and all that.

Well, lurms are a very hot button topic. Mostly in two camps.

We have them camp.

Get rid of them totally camp.

And mostly when you see a topic saying lurms are too strong, the posters solution is usually to get rid of them. so they can play the way they like without worrying about anyone else who does not play like them.

Sorry, but any question about them is gonna bring that out.

wow, it has gotten that bad? Why would anyone make a LRM only timberwolf when the clans have such awesome weapons and the TB has such agility and speed to out maneuver almost any IS heavy/assault.... just WHY??? :)
