Yes, I know, the Avatar won't be out for at least 6 years if we are sticking to the timeline. I just wanted to know what you'd think if you saw a fellow Kuritan piloting an Avatar. Would you like to pilot an Avatar?

The Mad Dog is one of the few very likely candidates for the next clan heavy. What your thoughts on your fellow Inner Sphere Kuritans using a Clan mech. Also, would you like to pilot a Mad Dog/Vulture?

If given the option, should a Kuritan use an Avatar or Mad Dog/Vulture? Or do you think they should avoid them?

Considering the Avatar is based off the Mad Dog, and Alshain Weapons (a Draconis Combine company) produces Vulture (Mad Dog) MK III later on, I figure the Draconis Combine generally likes the Mad Dog.
Of course, maybe this is just because the Draconis Combine seems to like Clan mechs more than other Inner Sphere factions, at least according to catalyst. Apparently we have the Ebon Jaguar/Cauldron born Prime, A, B, and C along with Dire Wolf Prime, Stormcrow Prime, Mist Lynx Prime, Mad Cat MK II, Locust IIC. The Davions only get a Mad Cat MK II. While the Lyrans get a Mad Cat MK II and Locust IIC 4.

I'm not sure how they plan to add in Inner Sphere Omnimechs, if they ever add them in, but the Avatar does have a Case in each side torso, and 2 medium lasers in the Center Torso.

Here are the loadouts that have weapons we can use. There's always 2 Medium laser CT, with 1 case in each side torso for everything so I won't mention those.

Personally I'd like to see the Draconis Combine using Avatars instead of Mad Dogs. Whenever Community Warfare comes around, I think Ghost Bear should be the ones known for the Mad Dogs since they love it so much in the lore, with Smoke Jaguars coming in using the Mad Dogs the 2nd most since they field a good amount and designed the Mad Dogs. Then Draconis Combine has to deal with the other clans for Mad Dogs after that.
Though, in PUG queue I couldn't care less about what each pilot drives. :)

You can bet I'll be driving a Mad Dog if I can, I'm a total Mad Dog "fanboy". However, I wouldn't mind piloting an Avatar, and the OB does look pretty nice. The loadouts are decent, but I'm not a fan of ballistics (unless you're having a build focused around the AC/20 or Gauss. So yeah the OG looks nice to me).

I'm ok with it personally. The Draconis Combine comes into the possession of a great deal of salvaged Omnimechs following the Battle of Luthien. As a result, they had plenty of salvaged mechs to analyze, and gathered enough knowledge of the technology that they eventually were able to replicate it. (The DC even built a near perfect copy of the Nova.) It also means they gained enough understanding of Clan technology that they could maintain the machines they acquired. so it makes sense that the Combine could field more Clan mechs than the other houses, especially after Operation Bulldog, when they reclaim all the territory they lost to the Smoke Jaguars.

although I do not have any clan mechs at the moment, I personally do not object to any House warrior
using his/her preference.

My personal rule is : I wont buy a clan mech unless I have killed one in battle, which I can then claim as Salvage.

This may take me awhile as most pilots wont stand still long enough for me to even hit them let alone kill them.

I am rather partial to the concept of the Avatar, myself (two CT lasers, how can you possibly go wrong? :blink:) and, as an OmniMech, it has plenty going for it.
Same for the Mad Dog, despite being 10 tons lighter (at least it has Clan tech).

Also, and quite frankly, I would expect a Kuritan to use these Inner Sphere OmniMechs anyways, considering you lot were the first in the Sphere to copy the technology. :P
(What? I am NOT telling the future, you must be thinking of someone else... :D )
