it's not "lag" from what I've seen. It's an issue with their netcode and servers. Of course their support reply is "have you tried resetting your router?"
which is both frsutrating and surprising as support is one of the few excellent areas regarding PGI

That is why I don't bother with technical support for issues like this. I probably know more about the technology involved than the support staff paid to answer phones and ask a set of standard questions (or answer e-mails/chats).

It's not just PGI - Fresenius does it with their Dialysis machines. Occasionally you'll get someone in there who actually knows a thing or two - but for the most part, they are little more help than the troubleshooting manual that encourages you to throw parts at the machine.

And I shouldn't get started on Fresenius and how they design machines... "Hey, I have an idea, let's sandwich as much rubber between bolted-together plastic as possible on every part and then disinfect it with a bleach solution while exposing it to 35 PSI."

But it kind of reminds me of how Microsoft used to be good until they started trying to be Apple.

I did it more just to make sure that I knew for a fact someone had reported it and they were aware of it. We all know they don't read through threads on the forums like this so I wasn't leaving to chance

Game is totally unplayable now. Lag freezes almost every game. Not even saying about fps drops and balance issues. Jeez that lag is online for weeks now and nothing from pgi, and it only gets worse.

It seems to be an ongoing problem to which PGI (at least, to my knowledge) has not responded.
They must be too busy (with really important stuff), to bother with a couple of minor complaint threads...

Why the hell should I check out their social media site?

This is the forum (with a technical support section) they created for their game to serve as a place for people concerned about the game to discuss things about the game.

If I have a concern about the game - I should be able to click on the forums button and the answer to very prominent and prevalent issues concerning the game's stability should almost smack me right in the face. I really shouldn't even have to click on the forum button - it should be right there on the launch page (probably under a "news" section) that says: "Hey, yeah... we know things kind of suck right now, our bad - we're working on it."

So that I can go "Oh, okay... good" - and when it happens after I click "launch" - I can go "hey, it's something they know about and are working on."

I swear... it's like these guys deliberately go against Business-Customer relations 101 at every turn. "We'll show them that we can make money selling them the torches to burn our headquarters down. Can't run a successful business off of hate for customers my ass! Look at my retirement account!"

In the last couple days I have experienced lags which makes it impossible to play. Living in the EU (or Germany to be precise) gets me a ping of about 110 to 130 which is annoying but still playable as long as you don't want to hit lights with the gauss on long range. More annoying are the recent lag spikes which makes everything on the map stop (while remaining in the walk animation) and after around 30 seconds I die in an explosion. Of course, for the others I am just standing around. Some people I play with seem to have similar problems.

This is now the third or fourth time it happened and I would love to know what the cause of this problem is. With a fast and stable connection I can assure that the problem is not on my end.

Any other people here who have those problems, too?

yep. Thursday Night, after a patch, I kept track of stuff, and there was no discos, nothing. Ran 23 matches, all went smooth as silk. Then came Patchageddon Friday...... and things have been total crap since. Trouble even logging into client, screen freezes during matches, crazy weird lag teleporting, etc.

Shooter game where hitreg is off, weapons are nerfed and you get lagspikes that locks you in place.

And no acknowledgement from PGI other than check your internet.

The real travesty is that this is now all these c0ckups are considered the norm from PGI. Any other developer and there'd be an online riot. Just shows how accepting we've become to sh!te when there's no competition.

Hey, hit Russ up on twitter, he asked for feedback regarding this on Twitter. I mean that's what twitter and 140 character limit is for right? Quality, detailed feedback....

because they refuse to use their forums for feedback. The forums are a joke, there used for nothing more than to let PGI sit back and laugh at our feedback honestly. At least that's how it seems most times. If you want ANY kind of response you have to hit them up on Twitter.

The ONLY ones who use the forums?
Niko and Bryan (rarely)

You can forget about them caring two sh*ts about any feedback you give them here though

Maybe they are devoting Resources to Duke Nukem' Forever 2 and can't do proper maintenance on the Servers :)

I have been having this issue as well. My voice communications with my teammates remain perfectly functional but MWO is the only thing that lags. Ping going from around 50 to 900 is not uncommon.

This topic should not stay at the bottom - not until we get somewhat clearance about the issue.
I have good connection - on a local level it's about 60mbits download for about ~40mbits upload - half it if you wish for intenational traffic, it still would be more than enough for ANY online game to play. I live in a country that was in the top 10 of the countries with the best internet connection(if I recall the research right - top 5). Ever.
This is really starting to get annoying - I was testing and when I ping some other foreign addresses I recieve something like 2 lost packets for every ~15k pings.
It should be obvious, and not only to me by that, that IT IS NOT a personal issue - there's something wrong with the connection going to PGI servers.
If I knew an IP address of the server and I could've ping it I could very easy prove my point - I would leave open ping every time i play the game to that address and to two other random ones - but alas - I have none.
Last night, the night before I've played, every SINGLE night I play the game I get lag spikes, ones that last from few ms to a full duration of ~2/3/5/10 secs - few ms I could live with, but when it becomes more than second or two, not to mention 5 or 10 - this is unbearable.
The game teleports me to a variety of locations, in mid-air also, hundred of meters sometimes - sometimes I start getting those spikes in the middle of the combat and that gets me killed.
I WISH it to stop and to be officially admited, that there are issues with that and it's working on it.
That's that.

Edit:
http://www.speedtest.net/ --> give me an location or/and their provider and I can show results, which would further prove that the issue has nothing to do with my uber internet connection.
