So about three months ago I was able to run this game at high on 1360x768 (my tvs hds res.) at 70 fps easy. Now I go from 40,50,30,10 when I torso twist it drops to 20.

my rig is

AMD FX 8-Core Black Edition
2 gtx 760 SLI 2gb
8 gigs of ram
990fx extreme 3 motherboard
running windows 8.1

I tried only using one gfx card(taking out one card) with the same results so I know its not the sli..infact I think it does nothing, even with the force render frame 2 trick.

I updated drivers on all fronts and lowered in game gfx to low with same results.

So...does Mechwarrior hate AMD? lol does anyone have any work arounds/fixes?

DXDiag if needed.

Spoiler

Fx8150......@ stock clocks.............

If you search these forums, there is a tonne of material pertaining to your particular problem.
There are custom cnfg. CPU tweaks around here eveywhere........

Basically you disable cores 1 3 5 7 leaving 0 2 4 6, and overclock the remaining 4 cores to 4.4+ghz...........to gain a decent bit on your min FPS.(this happens when core 0 is totally saturated and cannot pass instructions to core 1 fast enough to stop frame drop.......4 cores instruct 8 threads) Bulldozer still suffers greatly But there are many many patches and tweaks to keep you moving foreward....PUT UR 2ND CARD BACK IN Your CPU is your issue.....

I did search through but I did not find anything about disabling cores. I will give it a try now. Thank you for your post even if it was a little irate lol ;)

I personally use a coreparking program to software disable 4 cores when not needed.....project lasso helps as well to dedicate cores to programs...........realtime control of CPU affinity is a good thing.

Set a framerate limit of about 45 in the user.cfg, too …

It is not just amd. I can too run above 60 fps. I get mad drops whenever there are alot of objects in my peripheral. No matter if they are in view or not. So I can pretty much tell where a kill ball is just by the fps drops. It also gets really bad when I spam dakka and lrms or w.e that causes a bunch of sprites. Try hitting tab and watch your fps skyrocket to normal as the scoreboard pops up.

The huds are clogged, desync problems are everywhere. The game is just poorly coded and PGI is more worried about dishing out more stuff and stacking onto the problem than rather fixing it. If they just took 1 week to dig through their code and patch some problems, alot more people would enjoy the game without thinking their computer is the issue. I just upgraded from a GTX 660ti to a 760 through defective exchange. even before that my 660ti or even 2 gts450sli prior was rockin the game past 60fps at max settings. This is what I have now, and my game should hit 70fps, but it jumps everywhere and can hit as low as 12. And I can play Crysis 3 as balls out max with no AA and stay over 30.

GTX 760 2gb (not overclocked)
i5-2500k (been at 7.2 Ghz all year and stable, no lie)
MWO is on its own dedicated SSD (Invited via referral to MWO Closed beta, been here long time)
Win 8.1 (never been a problem)
16 GB ram 1366 mhz
3 HDD's for other crap.

So no, it is not picking on AMD players. My ability to snipe cockpits has been threatened by this horrible issue that has started since the dawn of the rejoin button and refill module check boxes. Cause those have been buggy as hell. Set some modules, save than check the boxes. If you get a flashy box, something is wrong with your game because your front end will get a worse fps drop than in game. My entire company is experiencing this issue, so it must be affecting everyone somehow.

If you are getting natural 60fps +, you got it good right now. Even a titan won't help you with this problem. PGI has to fix it, nothing we can do unless you kill your hud for a few extra frames. Right Shift + F9. But you get no cursor so get a sharpie, if you use lower actuators, you're screwed. All "vertical actuator only" mech pilots, enjoy the tip.

What are you cooling that with LN2?

And what are the temperatures under load

2500K world record is about 6 Ghz, and that's far from stable.

That's just the poor optimization work done on the game overclocking your I7 may help a little, but it wont stick to 60FPS unflinching.
