I think it would be great to deduct any damage one did to friendlies from his/her XP and perhaps even C-bills. You already have those statistics seeing you use them for events like the currently ongoing solo-tournament.
Putting this in the after-match screen will show players how they are doing and let them improve on it.
It will also make people more aware of their actions and what it means to the team they're playing with in matches.
