So i decided this morning to do a re-installation of the MWO client.
Uninstalled using add/remove(yes i'm still on xp).
Theres still a MWO entry in the add/remove program with no file info or size, when i used the installer, it goes to uninstall MWO, i run it, gives me an error.
Cleaned registry of MWO entries, still same thing in add/remove, newly downloaded installer.
Start installer, do the install path, ect ect, nothing it stops.
So i can't uninstall MWO, for some reason it still has entries that i have spent all day looking for, can't install cos i get nothing or an error.
Also been waiting all day to hear from support.

Really does anything in this game actually [redacted]!
Only game ever where doing a re-install is a massive issue, plagued with problems.
Full day wasted on trying to do a re-install, [redacted]

Greetings,

Have you done a search for anything titled MWO?
- Or Piranha?

Once the uninstaller is complete for the original program, and you reboot, it should (as you have stated) be gone.
- Do you also have the Beta Test Version installed?

If you select the install program and direct it to install in a different location, than default, will it work?

Don't have the beta test version installed, done searches on MWO, Piranha/Piranha Games and get nothing.
Installing to a different drive, doesn't work either, same issues.
Had a friend who knows more than me about it,have a look, he's also stumped but he says it looks like a possible re-install of windows to sort it and that's not gonna happen.
Still no response from support so i guess i'm done here.

I had the same problem this morning, you dont mention your OS but if you use windows 7 this worked for me. Select mechwarrior from the list after running the program. When it was done I was able to uninstall and reinstall as normal with no problems.

2: what are you trying to do?
Select, "Install or upgrade software or hardware."

3:View or run solutions for,
Select, "Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled."

Should I write a 12 bar blues song on the guitar for this? No, seriously.

My rage on thee issue was far beyond expressing in a simple 12 bar blues number, and i did in fact let off some steam by cranking my stack up full and making myself half deaf for the rest of the night ;).

Yes i did get my problem sorted, the hard way, later to discover there was a way way easier option, but i learnt some stuff in the process so a win win, in the end.

You should post the response here, someone in the future could benefit from searching for it. Help the future!
