So I found that I had some MC and C-bills on the test server so I am thinking,

these guys screwed up

I bought three Timber Wolfs and I even bought a fan and some speakers

I was also wondering for those people that got a chance to try out a Clan Mech for the first time

What did you think?

I thought the TW was pretty cool a little sluggish and for some reason it did not like backing up
(Could have been the teammate trying to use me as a shield)

All in all things went pretty smooth

The Timberwolf gets much, much better when skilled up. It doesn't exactly stop on a dime pre-elite either.

Of course I did! It was on the test server. I found my Omnis no more OP than my other Mechs.

Tried the Daishi and the Masakari... which I absolutely hated to death. The rest of the PTS was spent being alphered in the back by newbie Novas. :\

So you're telling us... Clans are not as op as you thought?

It was intended to have the Clan mechs for sale, it was announced...on Twitter.

I was a tad surprized about the TimberWolf. It's amazing. It combined the the fun of the WubFox, the firepower of the Splatter, while having the armour of a 75 tonner. 4 MPLs and 4 SRM4s was just so fun, and devastating.

But the Nerfinator nerfed my Wub, and that made me sad. At least 22 DHS can keep them cool, and 3 JJs help with the broken hitbox animations.

Probably helps that all the lasers were slapped down a notch or six.

TWolf, in fairness, when elited, and one gets used to it......is almost as ridiculous as people make it sound. It's just the perfect storm, perfect weight, perfect speed, armor, etc. Hitboxes, to the front (CT) are not perfect, and the back is pretty borked (been running the Koniving Armor Protocol), but it really is the boogie man Spheroids fear. Much less so since the JJs of the S were thankfully nerfed, but it's stupid easy to do well in the mech, to the point, I generally dislike running it because it's kinda EZMode.

Though I did find a non minmax/meta build for my Prime on the server I rather enjoyed.

In all honesty the changes don't feel like a Nerf, they feel like they give up a little to gain a little

true, but trust me when I say That if you pit an Orion vs a Twolf, with equally skilled pilots, the ON1 will lose at least 3 out of 4 of those matches (and I am a HUGE Orion fan, my best brawler being my ON1-VA)

The main TBRs I see are:

LRMs
Laser Boat
Lasers + SRMs

Sometimes see the occasional Gauss + CERMLAS

Ballistic TBRs pretty much dropped off the map, which I expected early on when I was asserting the TBR doesn't have enough tonnage to make optimal builds out of. (Dual UAC5s +4 CERMLAS is decent, but I think other builds are outright better).

Poptart TBR I almost never see, due to JJ nerfs, PPC nerfs and the fact that with Gauss + CERPPCs the build is just ludicrously hot once things get into brawl range.

So I'm not really sure what build is "meta" at this point for the TBR.

7 MPL, actually.

One "compromise" poptart build I've seen is Gauss + ERPPC + 3-4 ERML, probably to free up more tonnage for hover jets.

For me it was the Vulture in MW3... So. 60 tons, with masc (because it let me). Thing was stupid OP.

Admittedly I didn't try the TW. Would have, but didn't realize it was for sale. So I just got a pretty snake skin paintjob, tried out XL builds, level 5 AMS weapon mod and ran around in the Cicada a bit. That really should have been my first light mech.

@OP

I actually decided to try Ember/Firestarters and Ravens, because I don't own any.

They are light years beyond clan lights, I'll be picking one or the other and working my way through them at some point.

I also grabbed the Shadowhawk 2K, but the build I wanted to run felt a lot hotter than I thought it would be an I'm not sure if I'll grab that variant yet.

7 MPL, actually.

That falls under laser boat, but I really don't think that can be considered meta.

I also think the 2 CLPL +Mediums of some kind is the better all around build especially once those CMPLs lose both range AND get hotter.

Which is a baffling nerf, but here we are.
