It is. It's totally cheap.

Also, before trolls be like, "WAH-LL YEW SHUD AVOID ET!"

It's a problem to even know it's incoming when they plant it right behind you (as every experienced pilot seems to be doing...) so you can't even see the red plume before it's too late.

The end result? Suddenly a 20% health loss without warning. I'm seeing it in every match now and It needs to stop.

AC35s falling from the sky.

You had better hope they don't destroy your cockpit in a single shell.

Sorry but you do need to be more aware of your surrounding. I have had little to no trouble avoiding arty in a Battlemaster or an Atlas. It is not OP.

It is cheap... it that it costs only 40K to deploy and refill thus we see it in every match... several times per match. Would people use it as much if it was 100K per refill? (I know it would make me think twice. A loss and I could lose money for using it... heck even on some wins ... perhaps 80K then ? :D )

Unless I lay it right behind you. Then the only way you'll see it is 3rd person. Your pugs wont have an effective way to tell you hey there is smoke on you!!

Artillery is the King of Battle. And the King likes to rain on targets that sit still too long. I get caught in arty once every eight or so games in group queue and maybe once in 15 in solo queue.

I guess you wont be happy when they add orbital strike after the faction wars are in then. Battleship cannons from 50 kilometers up. :)

Im kidding i just made that up. But it would be cool if they add that some time. Especially if we could just barelly see the battleship or ships above maybe even exchanging fire. But it would be rare for any of the mechs to be looking up and see it, so it might not be worth the time to make.

And there it is: friends help friends avoid soaking up artillery/air strikes.

It's not perfect, you can whip around a corner just in time for an artillery barrage, fun times .

It is the closest we will come to combined arms in this game, so I'd rather not see it nerfed or removed. That said, changing the cost for its effectiveness might be reasonable.

Artillery Is Cheap/lame

Click... Boom.. Boom.. Ba Booom... Ka Boom

Will/have been use/using it instead of having it used on me anymore.

Have no moral or ethical issues with using, I spent MONTHS not using, now it's my turn and I do NOT care who gets their feelings or their Mech hurt.

Have a swell day... :D

If they added VOIP into pug games, or a "Incoming Artillery" warning? Then I'd be fine with it. If it's my own mistake for getting hit, that's fine.

I just hate getting surprised when there's no way for my pug teamates to warn me.

I have to agree with the OP. Honestly I don't see that it actually brings anything to the game.

And then I take my Lumps like a grown up. But as much as I swing around looking for targets, it is the rare smoke that I don't see. And only dying twice to arty in all these months, I just don't see it as even close to OP.

You can thank or blame PGI for it.

I'm used to be bombed by them, that dishing it back at them is the only "equalizer".

It all started back on the release on the Phoenix Pack... quadrupling the damage dealt by Airstrikes+Arty.

Remember, this was a Paul'in idea.

If you die to something then learn to avoid/counteract it. You could say just about anything is "Cheap" if you apply the logic of it killed me therefor its cheap yardstick.

My only annoyance with strikes is the fact that the marking smoke doesn't show up on thermal vision, then it truly is with no warning.

For some people, it's green on their screen while under thermal...

I can avoid arty strikes placed in front of me, even with my sluggish Stalker, but there is simply no warning when they are placed behind me. At least Lurms have warning.

Pug life.

You also have a limited torso twist which doesn't make sense seeing as you are a blimp on legs, Timber Wolves and Catapults have huge twisting ability but a similar build is [messed up]?

I hate that I can have an amazing fight with a canny enemy, twisting to spread damage, losing body parts and taking theirs, frantically trying to exploit wounded locations before I lose something critical myself, only for someone to click a button from a kilometer away and instagib me. Or, maybe an enemy i've outplayed drops smoke a meter behind me as a parting gift before cheesing it.

I guess everyone has a weapon system they despise, Artillery is mine.
