Glad you had fun with it. And while I hate to burst your bubble, the AWS-8Q can run the same weapon loadout while achieving superior cooling (even with DHS). You may still prefer the hitboxes on the Banshee, of course.

have to watch this when i get home, but how heat sinks work in MWO it all depends how many you can carry as to which are better.

99% of the time DHS are better because the tonnage available to maximize cooling, But in the cases where tonnage isnt an issue and you plenty of free crits if you can fit more then 42 SHS without gimping your build (if you care for if your build is gimped) then you will ahve better cooling then someone with DHS carrying the most possible (atlas with max engine rating can only fit 26 total DHS before running out of crit space and that doesn't even leave rooms for any real weapons)

Same atlas though (if you went XL engine) could fit about 50 SHS wouldnt have much room for weapons but could get some in there.

You.... Have a lot of fun with this game.

Not on topic, but the "urban mech" video, looks like you had even more fun than I did the time I ran this. FS9-H

I blame you for inspiring my "2994 Party" Banshee. And it already claimed its first victim. No, Centurion, you don't facetank an assault. :D

Edit : I should paint it red so it moves faster.

You'll have to post that build, although 20 DHS are inferior to 40 DHS.

26 DHS gives you 4.876, maths were off.

23 DHS gives you 4.393

40 SHS gives you 4.6. I don't believe the Awesome can fit 26 DHS, since my WubShee can only mount 23 with an XL400. If it's a STD Awesome, that might be an acceptable build, but XLs are suicide with the new hitboxes.

Keep the videos coming, they are very amusing.

It's like they can sense that you are using single heatsinks. And they think somehow makes you not a threat.

And red wunz do go faster.

I think he's talking about the heat efficiency quirks on the Awesome. It would have better cooling than my build but it violates the golden rule of this video: Lostech is for losers.

Define not working? "Unavailable in your country" ? Copyright enforcement on youtube does that.

An additional 10% cooling!

I forgot about that. 25% bonus...is pretty damn big.

AWS-WUB

So, 12*0.14
+2
*1.25

That gives a cooling of 4.95, on top of having less heat from E weapons.

That is pretty nice. Slow as balls, though. WubShee moves at 75.

Fun video and all, and hate to be that guy but 40 SHS don't get you much more than double. I just whipped up that build in smurfy, and with the default 285 engine, max torso armour, and the legs stripped to a reasonable degree, I managed to fit in 41 SHS for a heat eff of 49% (which considering how many lasers you're boating is pretty good).

However, switching to DHS, I was able to cram in 23 DSH and have tonnage left over to shove in the MAX ENGINE, the mighty 345 STD. With even more tonnage left over, I threw in a BAP for funsies, and STILL had room to spare, shame the Banshee won't take AMS. All of that, and I still ended up 45% heat eff!

All things considered, DHS still winds up being the much better option. I know I would rather scoot around at max engine speeds and carry extra equipment at the cost of 4% cooling.

(and yes, the AWE-8Q probably does this even better with its new heat quirks, but I will offer that the Banshee can survive a lot more punishment since it isn't the size of a small moon and carries more armour.)

You'll have a better sustain dps with 36 single in endo steel/std eng/awesome since it 36single +quick.

Your bashee generate excess of 5.89 heat per sec.
In the awsome you have an excess of 3.425 per sec. (So 2.465 hps less + 15 kph more of speed)

but I guess banshee pilot love there banshee

It's true. DHS is by far the more sensible option.

Remember: Sensible ≠ Fun ;)

I am saying fake video unless I see a drop from beginning to end
You just put a bunch of shots together,I bet the Mechs where all within one inch of their lives and you happened to get the last shot in

Reason I say that is any load out I do with my AC's last maybe one day and then it gets nerfed
I was running a LBX10 and a AC20 the other day and was just knocking down mechs
Then all of a sudden people are on the forum talking about the LBX

I remounted my 3 AC2's today and the LBX and the heat was through the roof

I want to see a complete drop before I believe this

I didn't follow his non-meta Banshee 3E machine gun-wub build, but been grasping for a viable 3S build so may seriously consider it, or a viable approximation on the 3M after the c-bill vindis are bought.
