Im looking for good price and performance obviously but any constructive suggestions are accepted. I frequently find myself with free time but not at home and we know that grind means hours.

Moving to the hardware forum. There you will get a good answer.

For the best bang for the buck, a price limit might be good.

Which country are you in? Cos that makes a huge difference in availability and prices.
Speaking of which what's your budget cos if the sky's the limit and you cbf doing research, grab an Alienware.

But no matter which gaming laptop you get remember that it's common for it to have 2 gpu's - an integarted one for desktop stuff and the gaming one. You will often have to assign profiles to the gaming gpu to get it to work properly.

If you are in EU like me the best you can get is a Lenovo y510p for a reasonable price, Others that can play on HD res and medium settings are well over 1000 euros. (I can actually play full HD and high settings for a decent 40 FPS, but it would drop at low FPS in the most crowded situations and I don't want that, after all it's a competitive online game, but if you don't mind, you can do it).

Other one you could find in that price range is the ASUS N550JK (same CPU, 8GB instead of 12GB of RAM, 750GB instead of 1TB+8GB SSD chace) but it has the slightly better 850GTX instead of the 755M, usually costs 100-200 euros more for few more FPS tho

http://gpuboss.com/g...GeForce-GT-755M

as you can see minimal performance difference in games, in a scale of 10, 0,2.

If you are from USA you are set :D Get a cheap yet very performing Sager (I was really considering them but there would be no warranty if I got one).

Or, for what I can see the y510p is sold out in US, but the y50 is even better and overall an Amazing laptop, starting @ $1,099.00 (250 dollars discount or more, lenovo outlet aways has great price, too bad I couldn't shop from there too).

The laptop doesn't need to be labeled as a gamer to perform that task. Look for something preferably with an i7, 8gb ram and a dedicated video card. Try to avoid integrated video!

A ULP i7 is going to hurt, a lot. It seems the only approach that will yield good performance in MWO is to start with a good, modern i7, a 4710MQ or something, and then get the best GPU that can be afforded afterward. Anything less and your CPU will bog you down too much for reasonably fluid gameplay. Is $750 a realistic budget here? Honestly, I'd guess not. That's just not going to net a laptop that will work out well for this game.

Good luck getting off for less than $1000

A laptop is ment to be portable ... an i7 in a laptop is stupid a good fast multi i5 model would be more portable ... there are some awesome quad i5 based units out there with utilize all four i5's during game play and run a graphics card, and then whilst not attached to the mains will run a single multi core i5 and use the on board graphics chip, using minimum power !

laptop i5's are dual cores. I wouldn't consider the use of integrated video a very good experience for mwo.

I said quad i5's that's 4x2 = 8 cores ... i5's have an integrated graphics chip ... but a lot of top end i5's come with a dedicated graphics card ... mine for instance has Dual AMD Radeon™ R9 M290X graphics with 8GB total (2x 4GB) GDDR5 - AMD CrossFire™ Enabled .

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. He should get four i5 processors? i7's are stupid?

Lenovo Y50 is the best stock laptop in terms of GPU, which this game requires most. If you go custom, thats different, but not cheap.

Here's one that's in your price range that has a dedicated video card. It's only a dual core processor but *Should* be able to handle mwo on low settings. http://www.amazon.co...p/dp/B00ISKS4A2

Seems like a good bang for the buck laptop. Bestbuy also carries it, so you may be able to go in person and check it out.

My Nexus 10 is portable, too. That doesn't mean I want to run MWO on it.

I don't know where you think you're getting your information from, but it's not an real-world current-gen Intel mobile chip.

Mobile i5s are dual core, and hyperthreading doesn't double cores (threads are NOT the same as cores), so I have no idea where you're getting this 4x2 = 8 cores nonsense. MWO does not run run well at all on dual-core CPUs because it needs four dedicated FPUs to be happy (ie hyperthreading does **** all to help you if you don't have four real cores). That's why Bulldozer/Piledriver chips like the 4350 suck really badly in it, and do horrendously worse than much older Phenom II X4s.

Same problem, it's cheap because it has only half a proper CPU, and the 820M is really underwhelming, too. It's a nice find for $690, but it's just not going to cut it.

The OP can stick to their $750 budget, or can save pennies and get something that will actually run MWO at more than slideshow performance. Short of winning a contest for a better laptop or gaining magical powers to conjure one up, there really aren't any other options that I can see.

Thanks for all the help and specs mechwarriors! I'm gonna just try and save for big. I do want an i7, and I do want a badass vid card. I recon I'll have to double my expenses. (I've already spent a HEINOUS amount of money on this game, let's quadruple that >:P)
