I'm not sure what's funnier...PGI's rip off, or this comment.

Honestly, I just find the OP's beliefs and attitude to be an utterly depressing reminder of just how low the depths of the lowest common denominator go.

Personally, I would like to know who the (last I checked anyway) 23 suckers are that were dumb enough to support the new game. If it was any MWO players, they should be ashamed and probably need to have their mental health checked.

You should check their forums. It's already turned into a predictable battlefield. :P

I wonder how much marketing they have done outside of the MWO community ... its pretty obvious they would get a poor reception from us they must be trying to find backers from further afield right??

if this would be on April, I would not believe it... this is gonna be like "WarZ".
They can't even handle MWO, doing everything against the Community, so many points open and feels still like a BETA!
Look at the poor Transverse Homepage...
Welcome To The Transverse>!!!PLEDGE!!!

I see 3 Ship Variants, one of them is close to a Cutlass clone from StarCitizen!
the Trailer is a Big Joke, the background looks for me like the "Starcraft 2 Briefing Menu" where the monitors are!

I've spend tons of money on StarCitizen (VeteranBacker) and I'm also a Backer on Elite: Dangerous (Beta) but I'll never spend a pund on this stupid Transvestiteverse Project and for now on MechWarrior Online.

RIP in Pepperinos MWO.

Considering we've only seen one piece of art so far its kinda wrong to make assumptions about what it is or isn't. After all could one say Star Citizen is just a rip off of Freespace or EVE or whatever? Probably not, so best to wait for more info.

All I can say to PGI is good luck, I'm not going to be interested in this new game no matter what it turns out to be anyway and only hope the attention paid to this new game doesn't mean MWO can't become better and more fun to play than its been lately.

Ahem...I believe this game preceeded any of the ones you mentioned:

WOW, it looks like a horrible attempt to rip off star citizen.

LOL, PGI makes a garbage SUPPORT weapon (LRM's) the most devastating and quite frankly unskilled and absolutely GAME crushing on the battle field, now they are read to tackle a brand new game lol.

They can't get that right, now they are making a star citizen clone lol bahhhah.

Yeah Star Citizen clone all the way. I am already a backer in Star Citizen and while they are taking forever, they actually already have a track record for listening to the community and more importantly involving the community. Also they have a massive headstar on PGI right now so by the time PGI's game launches, Star Citizen should likely have been out like a year or more.

Also based on their track record with MWO, I just can't see it ending up a better game than Star Citizen, especially since it is so similar.

PGI's method of dealing with people angry about broken promises and bad development has been to ban them from the forums, lock threads, and admit to making fun of their own customers. Now they're like "Oh hey guys, we know we have 1/100th of the experience of Chris Roberts, but we're making a space game, so give us moneys".

The people who paid for founder packages, you know, the ones who support these types of games, are the same ones who are angry with you. Don't you get it, PGI?

I am very appalled at the negativity towards this game! It's completely unwarranted, and frankly just a waste of time.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ community, I for one, am so happy to finally see a game dedicated to our way of life. Personally I don't play many of these astro-physicist games, but the visuals are FABULOUS!

Play on, PGI! Hope to see you at next year's GaymerX!

Normally i wouldnt have any trouble with taking apart the Star Citizen comparison. But the pedigree of Star Citizen in games like Privateer is fairly good in the space trading sim department. But even Privateer had inspiration from earlier games.

I think this new game coming out isnt taking inspiration from SC though but more on their ability to make some awsome cockpit combat and taking that into the stars as it were. If anything it will be SC looking to Mechwarrior on how to get cockpit combat right and that is a fact!

Also the crowd funding was done by Mechwarrior first or am I wrong here?

If all the above is correct you better watch who you are calling a clone and know that clones are weaker by nature. Touche :)

The setting of Transverse is very similar to Tachyon: The Fringe, save the bit about human augmentation.

At least now we know where the money from all those 'Mech packs is going.

So much sour grapes here, it is pathetic. Look, I could not care less about a space dogfighting sim, whether it be star citizen or any of the others, but lambasting pgi about a new project is pretty childish.

They do need $1 million before they allow you to fly at all.

Even more if you want to dogfight. But of course that's after they allow you to make ships.

To mention it...
Someone, who has a lot of the Star Citizen ships, happened to point out two virtually identical ships with very subtle changes from the Star Citizen ones.

Cutlass.
