With Sparky just being released, I noticed it was similar to the Quickdraw 5K and also the Jester. So, my question is, Who Does it Best?

A couple great builds on 6 energy hard points are: 4 Med Laser, 2 PPC. Or 4 Med Laser, 2 Large Laser (or ER Large).

But, here's the 3 chassis with the 4 Med Laser, 2 PPC build. Which is best?

Sparky: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...eb274063c533b8d

Quickdraw: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f51f3886b53e94d

Jester: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f5ca76303d1c5bf

Sparky is the fastest and most agile. Jester has dual AMS, the most armor, and the most heat sinks (but less Jump Jets). Quickdraw is in the middle but too large.

Sparky caught my eye, and thinking about getting him sometime soon, but my Jester has treated me very well so far in the 'fast energy boat' category. I run 6 MPL with an XL350, two AMS, and use the MPL Range, AMS Overload, and AMS Range modules, and it works wonders. Runs about 98kph post-tweak, and has plenty of armor. Wondering if I can make sparky a medium-version of this

Yeah, I've been taking a long, hard look at Sparky. I favor energy weapons in my builds, so it fits. I was thinking something like this:

Light hunting in that thing, or skating around the edges and hitting the enemy in the back, could be a lot of fun.

Another consideration is that Sparky and Jester are better at making cbills than the quickdraw.

Sparky will be better in short range fighting due to the fully actuated arms. Quickdraw would be next there with 1 hardpoint in each arm (I'd personally put MLs in the arms).

Jester would be better with the PPCs because of the high weapon mounts. I don't know where they are on the quickdraw, but Sparky's look fairly low.

Next is XL safety. Catapults are among the safest for XL engines (meaning the largest CT hitboxes). I don't know Griffons or Quickdraws.

Finally there is the consideration of the other two variants for mastery. If you have then, then it's not a consideration, but if not: will you be able to stomach them? In my case I'd been eyeing catapults anyways, so the Jester going on sale sealed the deal.

As for actual opinions: Sparky or QKD if you want a fast hit-and-run mech, Jester if you like mobile fire support.

None of them, and all of them at the same time.

People would think the QKD or Jester take it, since both have JJs, and can mount the same weapons with more armor. However, Sparky is faster and smaller. So it's going to depend on what else you want out of the mech, other than the hardpoints.

The QKD would suffer in torso twisting, so 6 MPLs wouldn't be good on it, considering it can't brawl that well. While Sparky and Jester can do that fine.

Sparky loses on armor, but wins on JJ count (7), and so can do more with the mobility.

The Jester can do better poptarting because of high mounts, and can mount bigger energy weapons.

The QKD can be a better sniper since it has 4 in the torso, allowing it to use them at long range rather well, while using the arms to shield (kind of like the banshee) While Sparky loses 2 weapons on each of it's fragile arms. and will retain only 2 in the torso total

So all in all, the three are good, but it depends on what else you need outside of just the hardpoints.

Okay, I've thought about it and seen some great ideas and this is what I think each would excel at:

Jester - (jump sniper) high mounted PPC arms with 4 backup Med Lasers and take advantage of dual AMS.

Sparky - (harrasser/striker/light killer) - high speed with lots of jump jets, 4 med lasers on arms and 2 med pulse in torso (arms will be able to track target longer then torso). Needs to stay cool, so more heat sinks.

Quickdraw - unfortunately, is too big. But could be decent as a support brawler. Big engine, ER and Med lasers for different ranges:

Quickdraws make excellent brawlers once you get a 300+ engine in them. Their torso hitboxes make them very XL friendly - in fact, your legs are your most vulnerable point, especially if you're jumping around. I had some fantastic runs with a simple 2LL (arms) 2 ML (torso) XL 325 or 350 build with max JJ. Of course, this was before JJs were nerfed... Comparing them in Smurfy, Quickdraw gets slightly more weight to play with, and Sparky gets slightly more speed (5kph or less). It's pretty much a tie. Griffin's side torsos are more vulnerable, but it can also twist faster & farther. Quickdraw carries more armor, but both its legs and arms are big and will take a lot of hits. So, overall, they're pretty much even, although each has different advantages.

Less AMS and use Radar Derp module.

Having played both the Sparky and the Faildraw.... the Sparky wins hands down. You can shield really well with your arms and spread damage while the Quickdraw just dies.
