Pff what may you knwo where blake was spreading his word or other genetic stuff wtithout having recorded it

And you can not simply massacre them if there would suddely rise a subculture with enough power to defend themselves. Especialyl if they would know revealing their heritage would lead to this. So they may have hiden themselves long enough gathering power.

Some of the Clan survived.

People just wanna play it to be cool. For the same reason they want to play CSJ.

Again we don't know that which is why it is Canon rumor. Its not like whole civilizations haven't been destroyed before. It has happened why not here? I just don't understand how you can base your characters around something that doesn't exist any longer.

We also don't know that every single last one were killed

so was every single member of Clan Wolverine (should be roughly 300,000 people, counting all casts) genetically tested and there DNA kept on file, I was under the impression DNA samples were only kept from Bloodnamed warriors, and that Wolverines genetic repository was destroyed.

I am not an expert in the annihilation of Clan Wolverine but it seems unlikely that the Clans would have retained DNA samples of every worker, tech, scientist, merchant and warrior (but just the warriors is plausible), and that the Clans have genetically tested everyone in the Inner Sphere to see if they are descended from a member of the not named clan seems highly unlikely

Clan Blood Spirit was not in favor of Wolverine's annihilation and get quite a bit of grief for it.

Nothing in the canon (meaning the fiction) would seem to indicate to the Blood Spirits that ANY Wolverines survived.

The Wolverines are no longer and that Clan's adherents should just move on. And it would be better for the Minnesota Tribe players to NOT foster the idea that they are the remnants of the Wolverines to avoid undue "harassment" from the Clans who got the edict for Annihilation. There could be a repeat performance.

I understand the zeal behind playing an underdog, but there is a limit. It is called "Canon".

Seems unlikely a civilian could have escaped without a ship (aka No can get away when a planet is blockaded and bombarded).
You can't escape orbital blockades and we know civilians did survive but the few that did were found and sterilized before they could breed. In short it is apparent to Clan Ghost Bear, Blood Spirit, Wolf, Jade Falcon, and ALL THE OTHERS that the Not-Named are annihilated utterly (also not that hard to annihilated 300,000. Look in the History Books, a man in the 1930s-40s annihilated 3 million while fighting a war on 3 different fronts).

And don't forget that Uncle "Joe" Stalin had 20 million of his fellow Soviets killed during those same years. (pssst, {Godwin's Law} had an estimated 6 million Jews killed)

But how likely is it that ALL of them were on the planet? So they never had any traders leaving the planet to other civilisations or societies? They never F*cked around and give probably birth to some unknown little random child? (Ok in that case the child may not even know where it orogins from to claim being a Wolverine). But on the other hand, mom may know it. Or Maybe some female sof the clan left the planet earlier. Or did this NEVER happened? very unlikely. And so, as long as there is no remaining DNA sample and every born individual tested on it, there stays the slight chance that some of them are out there.
