Bam. The Bishop called it. The Bishop is pleased. But will they do it with Hand and Lower Arm Actuators? Original tro 2750 all contained in the arms, or revised, and annoying split crit version of later publications? (Which would likely restrict range of fire even more)
Anyhow.......................
Let the Split Crit Conspiracy begin!!!!

I can't wait to chant "CRAB PEOPLE!" in chat. HAHAHA!
Edit: I would also not want to have split crits.

actually it means you cannot.
The rule of split crits is the split crit item takes on the firing arc of the most restrictive location. So you would actually technically be limited by the pitch and yaw of the torsos, conceivably having LESS range of motion than mechs like a Jager do.

Aye.
It also means that intelligent players will get a nice 10% Damage Reduction on the KCB's arms, which is an awesome perk.

Depends on the hitboxes....
I for one, can't remember the last time one of my assault mechs lost a Arm that didn't have a torso attached to it.

yeah between the King and the AH, gonna have to remap the bay door key, for quick access.

yes it will. It's one reason my redesign had such massive arms.... to soak that torso damage....
but if it's based off of Alex's old black ink sketch..... those arms ain't catching much. Personally I hope Alex did a ground up redesign nothing like that sketch.

Without it, we'll never see Arrow IV's or a good number of later designs- and it'd also allow AC/20 mounts on XL engine designs, as part of the gun can be split to the CT if torso mounted, or in the case of 'Mechs like the Centurion, arm/side torso.
Split critting actually expands construction options in a positive way.

apparently so, though I suppose for 100% confirm I should ask Russ.

I'm a speed-obsessed Clan player who hates driving slow-as-molasses overgunned assault 'Mechs more than anything else in this game, to the point where I have stripped my Dire Whales and never touched them even once, and I still may give this particular Alaskan a shot or two. Man, this has been such a great week for MWO it's put a near-permanent smile on my face.
EDIT: Also no split crits, please. That's just asking for a lot of ****-retentive weirdness issues, and also seriously devalues those 'Mechs that can naturally carry big-arsed guns in arms, a'la the Blackjack and JagerMook...and the King Crab.

while I personally hope to avoid them, I also do see where you're coming from, I just think it opens a few other cans of worms... though TBH....I'd totally mount XLs in my HBK if I could with an ac20. Once you lose that torso you are mostly useless anyhow, 95% of matches. That extra boost in firepower the tonnage would free up, and speed, likely would benefit more matches than the overrated survivability to go pew pew with 1-2 lazors.
