You see I have an ASUS GTX 650 GPU and I was wondering how you optimize games with it? Is this game even optimizable? If so how can I optimize it? I need answers if you need my full specs I would retrieve them but the only change I have made so far is more RAM up to 32 Gigabytes. Another problem is that I dont want to abandon one game because the GPU itself is not compatible with the PC game so what do I need to do?

Also I almost forgot I use DX 11 on Mechwarrior Online I didn't know where to ask this so I thought I would ask it here where all the experienced in technology people are.

Full specs are required.

Why have you upgraded to 32 Gb of RAM? you only need 8...

The game is more CPU dependent than GPU.

GTX 650 is a very weak GPU. Even though the game is more Dependant on the CPU, if the video card isn't up to par, you aren't going to get good game play.

GRAM and RAM are totally different things.

GTX 650 is a very weak GPU. Even though the game is more Dependant on the CPU, if the video card isn't up to par, you aren't going to get good game play.

This is what I was afraid of Ninjitsu so what should I do? Something tells me I start with a compatible power supply and then start fiddling with what ever is inside trying to find parts of the same brand. One thing is for sure there really is not a need for a Titan Black or Titan because I think they are huge very expensive components! I think chances are I am going to have to find at least a minor upgrade for the GPU by minor I mean atleast decent. Then I hope my CPU isn't not welded in if it is I will be kinda upset its not a big deal I kinda dug this hole on my own buying a pre-built.

You've got a good CPU, soooo much ram! I really think your video card is holding you back. Do you know the size and brand of your power supply? There are a lot of video cards that will work for relatively cheap. An AMD R9 270 is a good option.

Here's a benchmark for your current card http://www.videocard...GeForce+GTX+650

And the 270 http://www.videocard...u=Radeon+R9+270

Here is the power supply in watts 350 W Peak 500 W as for the size and brand of it that is a very good question but since I was not the one who opened it not to mention its under warranty of the people who put the ram in I can't look inside it but I am going to do a bit of research when I find the dimensions and brand I will let you know.

Well here is my problem I don't think sticking a Radeon that originally came with a Nvidia is such a good idea I know they adapt but my thought is that it would be less chance it is compatible unless its the same brand it came with I am not saying stick with the same model just brand.

I guess there is one more thing I should add is Asus GPU tweak worth it? I mean I am not going to be overclocking it.

Ofc VRAM and RAM are different I'm well aware of that; but why on earth have you got 32gb of RAM unless your doing some serious non gaming activity that is totally wasted money that should have gone into improving the GPU

Well I do have college now man I didn't know before hand that RAM did nothing but its done now but now all I need to do is probably buy a new GPU but first I need to know if my power supply is enough.

Take a look at the brand; and how many amps on the 12v rail it provides

You could always use some of that extra RAM as a ram disk I guess

I guess there is something else to ask while I am here I read the Ram Disk is a solid state why can't I just put a solid state drive in there with the RAM would it change anything or would it not work?

Something tells me this is the power supply I read on a website specs

For video cards, brand means nothing. There are no compatibility issues. I suggest buying a quality power supply, and then getting the best video card that you can afford.

If you can't open your computer, that's a bad thing. How are you going to be able to blow the dust out? That's a very important part of maintaining a computer.

If you can't open your computer, that's a bad thing. How are you going to be able to blow the dust out? That's a very important part of maintaining a computer.

I know stupid huh? I guess I should pop that question with Frys electronics.

EDIT: I just called Fry's Electronics they said its not in the warranty but you are allowed to open the case and clean it out I guess I should go buy a can of air then but first I will open it up just to look at what were talking about brb.

Greetings all,

Whatever type of warranty you have does not stop you from actually opening the computer case.
- It doesn't matter what they say, case is yours.
How else would you actually check that this vender really did the work they say?

As well, the regular maintenance of dusting and checking things have not moved (cabling) is your responsibility as an owner.
- There warranty should cover removing there installed parts, not looking in the case.

- A leased computer is a bit different. It's still there property.

My power supply is a DPS-400ab-22a but I cant find any information on Delta Electronics of it and its not even listed as a product they make does that mean mine is so old that I should purchase a different one?

Greetings,

If the PS has all the necessary plugs/cables required to operate your current and possibly future motherboard it's ok.

Depending on the motherboard it may require a different plug pin style, as well as additional vid cards may need dual 6 pin plugs for power.
- Keep in mind that all PSU have a lifespan and the caps, diodes can only take so many surges then they are done.
- The value you want to look for is the "MTBF" - Mean Time Between Failures. It is an average life expectancy of the product according to the manufacturer. It's not always on the box, so sometimes you have to dig around to find it. It's an average, so some last longer, some shorter. Quite a bit depends on the continuous operating temperature, operating altitude, and materials of construction.

That specific PSU may have been a special product for a limited run, as you say it's not listed on the Delta site, they don't even go that high anymore. Look for a manufacture date on the PSU, if you haven't overtaxed the unit 6 or 7 yrs. is about the normal lifespan. Pushing it and operating under hot conditions could lower that to 4 or 5 yrs.

Sorry I just saw this post, but I have a GTX650 Ti as well, think it is a PNY. My sig has the rest of my specs, so if you have anywhere near or above my CPU, you can get decent framerates using DX9.

Check my thread I started for answers. Too lazy to type everything in again.
