Greetings all,

I'd like to toss a quick question out to my fellow Mechwarriors and see which they'd prefer.

A little background first on what a "comma rose" is, for those who have not played a Battlefield style game. The comma rose is a small menu that you can bring up with the tap of a single key or mouse button that has multiple tactical options surrounding it. These options can be selected either with another keystroke, or by clicking on it. They tend to be options like "enemy spotted", "move to this location" or "I'm low on ammo".

A while back, MWO tried implementing an in-game VOIP system by the name of C3. It wasn't used very often, as anyone who would normally be doing voice communications was already on a Team Speak or Ventrillo server. The option was removed from the game at a later date, or at the very least, put on the back-burner out of sight.

My question to you, as the players who would be using it, is whether or not you would prefer to use a comma rose to having in-game voip?

Feel free to sound off on the advantages and disadvantages of both. This is something that could impact team play immensely if either (or both) were implemented.

Sadly in games that have these things implemented I either forget about them or mute everyone. A lot of people just can't game without swearing every other word so I just mute them because I don't want to listen to it. I have abstained from voting just because I wouldn't mind the addition but I wouldn't use them much either.

Comma rose is really essential for the solo queue.

It is just a simple and easy way to communicate simple things to your teammates.
(enemy spotted, help needed, moving to E5 etc..)
the current Battlegrid commands or chattyping is to slow.

I fully agree with you, Kain. Voice comms may be good for established teams, but for casual or family players they generally don't need something that in depth. As for the current battlegrid and chat, it is horribly slow when you're trying to run away from oncoming fire.

Greetings all,

This feature is being worked on by PGI, but is taking a back step till CW2 has arrived.

See here for 'The Plan' on completion and what it will offer.

Anyone play games like TF2?
it has a voice in game that is there based on teams, unless all-talk is on, is this the VOIP you are talking about?

if so I voted yes

TF2 also has the chat thing suggested above...

voted yes on that too

So much yes to this poll. Both options please. Theres a reason humans can talk, and a reason they talk frequently in team sports.

Yes to the command-wheel thing.

For voice... we have teamspeak. If we wanted to talk during pug matches, we'd all be playing on xbox still.

Iffy on the concept of speech.

I'd rather not have my funny mic or accent cause more confusion about what was said.

You gersh darn premades and yer' superiority complexes!
Us puggers can communicate intelligently too!

Seriously, I've played many a game with intelligent teams-- communication only being hampered by the lack of easily accessible VOIP. I don't want to join a group of h4rdc0r3 pr0z in their own special snowflake TS just to talk tactically. I want to be able to drop in a game, and if there happens to be intelligence, to communicate easily with them too. Is that so outlandish and repugnant of an idea?
