It's a popular topic, and I did the work for myself, so here's another list based on the mechs in MWO (common variants not available in MWO are excluded from this list)

1) These mechs are in common operation by the FWLM as of 3050 (they have parts and techs)
2) For the new mechs sporting Star League tech, scroll down to the bottom note.

Light Mechs

BNC-3M

Atlas [100 tons]
AS7-D

Star League Tech
Special Marik mechs have just been coming off of the production lines as of 3050. They are found only in top units 1st because of limited production numbers. So to have access you usually have to belong to an elite unit, or a unit with special privileges, or be connected to the right contacts)

Free Worlds Guards: 1st, 2nd
Fusiliers of Oriente: 1st, 5th, Ducal Guard
Marik Militia: 1st, 6th, 10th

I'm not sure how accurate this list is, pretty sure the ON1-M is a Marik variant.

EDIT: Yup, first used by FWLM in 3049, and 3050. Most of the weapons and tech was provided by Kali Yama Weapons Industries Incorporated, which is one of the biggest FWLM manufacturers/providers.

You didn't read the part where it said "For the new mechs sporting Star League tech, scroll down to the bottom note."

I'll bold it so it's harder to miss. Thanks for the reply.

Woops, reading comprehension fail on my end. Just highlighting the 2 points up top should do it.

Thanks for the reference list by the way.

Sidenote:

The FWL is a "prolific Wolverine user".

But our standard Succession Wars Wolverine variant, the WVR-6M is not included in the game. (On the tabletop it was clearly the best of the lot)

Same applies to the 3050 FWLM upgrade of the Wolverine, the WVR-7M. (Another contender for the medium mech crown.)

You can try to substitue both with the -7K. The hardpoints of the -6K fit a tiny bit better, but then there is the JJ issue.

That is one thing that needs to be added, there are more WVR-6Ms in service than any other type of Wolverine anywhere.

It would also offer something significant the other current MWO models don't, a left arm energy hard point.

The WVR-7M won't appear until they (if ever) include MASC in the game, but there's no reason not to have the WVR-6M.

I wish they would release the FWL militia paint scheme as a camo, want this so badly on my CN9's.

That's an interesting list. My own research into the subject has found most lists don't include:
-Any Blackjacks (except salvage)
-Any Catapults (except salvage)
-Any Highlanders (its an odd chassis in terms of lore though)
-The K Firestarter
-The 1S Griffin
-The SS Thunderbolt

Here's an official enough for me unit availability list though certainly not the same as some of the much older in print stuff.

Also did you just miss the TBT-5J because almost every list would say that's a Marik mech.

I really ought to find my Field Manual FWL and see how that differs from the various online lists.

The [3058] Field Manual won´t be very helpful. Likewise the rulebook RATs. They are more like a guideline.

Check the classic Battletech forums and search for MadCapellan´s fan-made Objective Raids supplement. The most accurate list of components and battlemech production I know of.

Of course you have to take it with a grain of salt. Early BT sources weren´t keen on fact checking.

And just because you don´t produce something doesn´t mean you can´t import it in quantities.
The Ostsol story highlights another special case. There were no production centers left, but on Connaught replacement parts were still manufactured. So the FWL could keep their Ostsols operational while other nations could not. That resulted in more of them to be found in the FWLM than elsewhere, but not really numerous in absolute numbers.

You have more or less to accept some inconsistencies in the early periods. And the standard answer is always: "whatever works for your game".

True, it's a FWLM mech from pre 3000s.

Yeah I missed it,
It is THE Marik treb until the M upgrades,
I'm thinking I checked to see if the S version was in MWO (another Treb variant in use by Marik) and when it wasn't I moved onto the next mech instead of continuing to check the other variants. Oops. ;)

Added, and thanks for pointing that one out.

Captured on planet Outreach + Trade Deals with Davion + Salvage

Hoax415 said:

-Any Catapults (except salvage)

Appropriated from Hollis Industries when FWLM controlled Corey + Salvage

Hoax415 said:

-Any Highlanders (its an odd chassis in terms of lore though)

Same deal as Catapult + Salvage

-The K Firestarter

This was not a special production run. This variant was available for sale along side the standard FS9-H during the Star League era, and was in use by nearly every military.

Hoax415 said:

-The 1S Griffin

Marik 1N's would have been converted into 1S's in the old days when they lacked PPCs, and the 1S was the only Griffin in production. (and thus more easily servicable)

Hoax415 said:

-The SS Thunderbolt

This design is available to any House willing to pay for it.... and since Marik owns a Thunderbolt plant that fulfills orders to anyone.... they pretty much get stuck with any surplus to go alongside of their S versions.

So glad that the 15th Marik Militia got a shipment of Star League tech upgraded mechs. I own and mastered all the M variants.

Hey, I updated my tables with the latest released mechs. Here you can see the percentage of mechs used by all factions in 3039:

Spoiler

Remember we are now at ~3053 and new mech designs are popping up all through IS (and Clans). Some mechs not in the list might be released next (like the Bushwacker).

You can conclude these are the preferred mechs of the FWL:
  • Light: Wasp (not in MWO yet), Stinger (not in MWO yet) and Locust
  • Medium: Wolverine and Hermes II (not in MWO yet)
  • Heavy: Orion
  • Assault: Awesome and Stalker

Be nice if we could finally get the WVR-6M, WVR-7M and a few of our other missing mechs.
