hey my friend and i have been trying to connect to a game for the past hour and unable to no matter who hosts we have entered the IP correctly and everything does anybody have a fix for this?

Who hosts the game, you or your friend or is it a standalone server ?
Have you checked the firewall settings (both, those in Windows and those on your router) ?
An alternative may be the use of a VP network like hamachi to play in a virtual lan-network
