I got one word for you buddy: freeborn B)

If you mean clan members that are actually born and not MANUFACTURED then that is mainly the civilian castes. Not to many freeborn warriors other than in the wolf's dragoons/warden clans

also They are not the kind of society that would survive without their Testtube Babies

Clans - 10th century Christian crusaders with hightech mechs.

No, I don't like them.

The issue I have with the Clans is exactly what Risky says. I will always be partial to the Inner Sphere because warriors don't have to be manufactured. And it was proven that the Clans can't stand up to the combined might of the IS when we beat them down in their own Trial of Refusal on Strana Mechty and then followed it up with the complete and utter destruction of the vaunted Clan Smoke Jaguar.

I know of societies where "same gender physically close people" are hanged. Women are stoned to death for the crime of being rape victims. Church attendance is mandatory. The government laws regarding diet make New York's soda ban seem a paradise of freedom. Where young girls are pushed back into a burning school to die horribly, lest a man sees them without covering.

I not only dislike those societies, but I refuse to live in them for any length of time at all. And so will most folks on this site, when they realize the internet access sucks, and "depictions of people without clothing" & booze are also illegal.

Lived in east Asia a couple of years, though. That wasn't so bad, but I still vastly prefer the US.

On the other hand, there are many, many, many people who prefer to live in the above described societies, and I applaud their willingness to live by their beliefs. I am a friend to any willing to let me live according to my own beliefs, and am very grateful for the quirk of fate that caused me to be born in the west.

edited because words describing same gender relations, and grown up pictographic reading material get *'ed out.

I hate them. Their society looks psychopathic. To "prevent wars" they made war a basis of their society. Clans is a story of warmongers' success, their entire society ruled by warriors and all their effort and progress aimed at war. So what would they do in case of success of their invasion? Member of the IS nation can sometimes fall victim to war between Houses. But this is rare case after all, considering the mech-oriented warfare, the "Honors of War" revived in Third Succession War and the vast scale of the Inner Sphere in comparison to war theaters. And he is valid member of his society and he can enjoy his life (well, perhaps not so if he is Capellan or Draconian). Perhaps under the Clans non-warrior hardly risks being KIA at all. Clans possess advanced technology once lost by IS. But what's good in these "advancements" for non-warrior? He would live under constant occupation of the trueborn warrior caste, he would be considered inferior and all his efforts would be aimed by clan to produce military hardware, reducing his own needs and peaceful progress to bare minimum, so the warriors may "prevent barbaric wars" by constantly challenging each other.

Clans are the ******* offspring of the (sadly) typical Russian mindset of tyranny and militarism. The legacy of the mad Kerensky should be utterly and thoroughly eliminated.

P.S. Yes, there ARE societies inferior to others. I may go as far as to agree with clanners that there are inferior people (it's funny to hear pro-clanners calling for some tolerance when their own social structure is based on eugenics and idea of inherent superiority).

My buddies awarded the handle by acclaim (disdain) while playing Doom with them a long, long time ago. I would always go for the chainsaw, and sprint headlong into everything. They'd track me by the dead bodies (often my own).

Pretty sure idiöt is censored in a futile effort to keep the forua civil. Recent developments have proven that plan to be naught but a fleeting wisp of idealism.

it was never to "prevent war" simply change how wars are fought. I love the Clans for that. You can keep your Four Succession Wars, Kentares Massacre, Ares Convention that you all signed then abandoned all to yourselves & bomb the **** out of each other,.

Excuse me, but did you just say you like North Korea?

And America did indeed put boots on the ground and shot plenty of missiles at it. We called it "The Korean War". The missiles weren't nuclear, but we sent lots of guided rockets at their troops and armor.

And North Korea is quite infamous as the most repressive regime in the world. The supreme leader of NK 김정일 (Kim Jong Il) just died, and many were executed for 'not showing sufficient grief'. One general who was so grieved that he got plastered drunk was just executed. By mortar.

So North Korea is off to a fine start as a despotic, repressive regime run by 김종운 (Kim Jong Un). If you do like it, I'll be more than happy to give you some tips on how to learn Korean, and a few things you should (and shouldn't) do when you arrive. Just PM me. As excellent as your English seems to be, I'm certain that you'll have no trouble getting approved for immigration.

You'll certainly be in the top 1% income bracket over there, and have no trouble getting ladies.

If you're into astronomy, you'll love North Korea. Below is a satellite picture of North and South Korea at night. That one tiny blob of light near the west coast is the capital, Pyongyang.

Yes I did because they oppose the US. You know those guys that bombed Hiroshima & Nagasaki & now portray moral hypocrisy by trying to dictate who can & who cannot have the same weapons they used that decimated a population, the effects of which still linger.

Maybe you should watch White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It was an HBO special. You can check it out on their website.

You cannot shoot a gun then hold onto it & ask others to get rid of theirs. So again that was a YES.

Definately. They mask cowardice with stupidity and they think children belong in cans. Now that last part may have a bit of merit but the rest makes them worthy of nothing but greasing the bottom of my mechs feet.

Space communists bwahahaha
I'm laughing so hard because of the amount of ignorance these 2 words convey.

Simplicity to the max, just brilliant. I commend you for the Homer award. Well done sir, well done

You're making about as good of a case against those words with your post as I do for them; also - as you may have noticed from the tone of my post - I wasn't attempting to be neither serious nor wholly accurate. Parallels do exist though, such as consolidation of power, the state owning the means of production, purging the opposition etc. - and could be argued that ignoring them, not using an approximation, is what shows ignorance.

By the way, ever heard that "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit", "sir"?

I agree on the 'lowest form', but not on wit. Otherwise you would have chosen better words or something more entertaining.
As for your arguments, I think neither the IS, nor the Clans did/are doing their citizens any favor. But the Clans have at least the decency to keep them out of the fight. It's easy to ignore important things like this when you try to find fault with them. And I think you did sir, no need to wiggle out of it.
