How can you dislike a society different then your own without at least living it for a time? Because they have a different way of life you dislike them? Way to go trying to keep things one dimensional.
I know of societies where "same gender physically close people" are hanged. Women are stoned to death for the crime of being rape victims. Church attendance is mandatory. The government laws regarding diet make New York's soda ban seem a paradise of freedom. Where young girls are pushed back into a burning school to die horribly, lest a man sees them without covering.
I not only dislike those societies, but I refuse to live in them for any length of time at all. And so will most folks on this site, when they realize the internet access sucks, and "depictions of people without clothing" & booze are also illegal.
Lived in east Asia a couple of years, though. That wasn't so bad, but I still vastly prefer the US.
On the other hand, there are many, many, many people who prefer to live in the above described societies, and I applaud their willingness to live by their beliefs. I am a friend to any willing to let me live according to my own beliefs, and am very grateful for the quirk of fate that caused me to be born in the west.

edited because words describing same gender relations, and grown up pictographic reading material get *'ed out.
