Okay, $500 with OS? Hope you don't mind Windows 8 beta until you can buy windows 7 or the like.
Case: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16811146061
Power supply: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139026
motherboard: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813157292
CPU: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103893
GPU: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102988
RAM: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820103006
HDD: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16822136769
ODD: (see if you can find one from an old PC that will work, the motherboard I suggested does have an IDE port if you need that. Ask around for people with old computers, pick one up for $5 at a PC store, etc.) otherwise: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16827135204
Heatsink: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16835226050
OS: http://windows.micro...S/windows-8/iso 64bit

Best I could do. Windows 8 beta will get you along until you can get a different Windows (i.e. 7)
There are a couple things you can do to reduce shipping, but hopefully it won't be horrible. Namely saving on that Optical drive.

Hope all works well.

Ok thanks, been reading your pinned topics, spending time looking round. I like the case you suggested,it looks and seems awesome, I might go cheaper there. I am starting to understand more, as I look at the system you put together. It is mind boggling, all the options and configs a fella can grapple with. thanks again, as I go plodding on;o)

yes there are so many configs, once you understand the price brackets on hardware are you literally get what you pay for.

True, but remember those that bought the car the 1978 chevette for cheap, did not get the value as a 1978 toyota, they cost about the same, but I do not see the 1978 chevette around, but see the 1978 Toyota's all the time. I just want to err on the toyota side, if ya get my meanin? :D

Ok, my friend has a eVGA GeForce GTX 560 Superclocked Graphics card - 2 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM, we think, he is going to take it out to check, depending on what he sells it to me for, is it a better card for my application than the http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814102988
which is SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card (11192-22-20G)

he also has a ATI Radeon™ HD 5670 Graphics card, but that is older right? thanks danno

the 560 is far superior, though you'll need a better power supply.
At minimum, get this; http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817371016
Though I recommend getting this if you can; http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817207013

The xfx psu's aren't very good, you should really stop giving out equipment advice man.

What the heck are you talking about? The XFX PSUs all have quite good reviews and use Seasonic internals.
In fact, that particular 550w version is based off of the Seasonic S12II.

Or are you going to say Seasonic isn't good now?

XFX PSU's are good quality and stable power delivery, its OCZ you want to stay away from.

Not all each companies models come from the same OEM, thus why it's best to stay away, and they don't mark them either.

All XFX PSUs currently in the retail market I am aware of except for the XFX Core edition 450w are Seasonic based power supplies

OMG... OCZ power supplies are getting really bad... Not as bad as Coolmax or Diablotek, but from what i'm seeing they are getting ready to join those ranks if current reliability issues aren't addressed.

Sorry. To put it simply, your best bet is to get an XFX Core Edition 550 watt or better power supply, and get that geforce gtx 560.

err to make it even more confusing i shall toss in the http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817182068 !!

Mainly because until 6/28, that psu has the promo code RW15PSU06 to be 15% off. Not to mention that it is also free shipping and it'll be slightly cheaper!

So if you are putting together a system soon, it is definitely worth looking into.

No, No, simple is gooooood! It was the contrary opinion that was confusing.... On the PC stuff, speak S L O O O W L EEEEEE, condescend , tell me I am stupid if you must, but tell me what I need to know. Now if you need to talk about driving theories, or bathtubs, then, the tables should be reversed.LOL, I am taking it all to the heart, well, I am a man, so, maybe I am taking it to a small and isolated section of my heart, reserved for the sincerest and most meaningful things in my life, the rest of the heart, frankly doesn't care...

Yep go with that capstone. (If someone wants to argue, it is based on the Super Flower Golden Green.)

As far as that argument earlier, if you were wondering about that, is that we were arguing about brands, and it seems silentD11 is either highly misinformed about brands, is trolling, or simply because he was too lazy to do any research on what brands XFX uses in their power supplies (I believe CWT for the Core 450, and Seasonic for the Core 550 and the rest of their PSUs.) and he automatically assumed that the brand was bad and should be stayed away from.

If that makes any sense.

He check, and the above card is not the one my friend has, he was positive it was the one above, oh well,he said, pny gdx 560 1 gb 5ddr.
I looked for that online to see the price i should pay, even at half price, but this is the one I think is what he meant.http://www.newegg.co...%20560%201%20gb
