hey everyone !

When can we expectend a réduction of the 10 Heatsink equiped for light ?

so with 10 required heat sink the locust look like this =>
LCT-3S 2SRM4 + 1ML
Or LCT-1V 4MG + 1MPL
Or LCT-3M 5ML

Fragile, not very unsefull and OVERCOOLER !

If the 10 heatsink limit is reduce we can build this =>

LCT-3S 2SRM6 + 1ML
Or LCT-1V 4MG + 1LL
Or LCT-3M 5ML + 2AMS

Quite more usefull

I take for exemple the locust but it's true for Commando !

COM-2D 3SSRM2 VS COM-2D 3SSRM2 + 1ML

this is for me the best "Quirk" for ligth Mech who cannot equipe STD/XL 250 or more.

so when can we expected this modification ?

In the Tabletop, the heatsinks outsie then ergine but up to the 10 minimum have no weight, and that weight is includd in the weight fo the engine.
In MWO the weight is not included in the weight of the engine and the heatsinks are counted seperate. Either way the total weight is the same.

Your engine weighs a whole three tons less than it is supposed to, and if you could magically run without those 3 outside heatsinks you'd suddenly have three whole tons of free space you're not supposed to have.

Ok perhaps but some TT rules are already break (like DDC With ECM, DHS 1.4x, weapon damge or heat, back mounted weapon etc etc ...)

This TT rules apply in MWO break some battlemech loadout so i thinks this rule need to be modified.

PGI say they want to push people to use the light mech and this is an nice opportunity.

Never.

Lights are not supposed to be walking weapon platforms like the bigger chassis. Weapons are secondary to their scouting role.

Does that make them less useful in MW:O? Until they come up with larger maps and/or random spawn/collection points, or some other way to highlight the scout role, yes.

As a light pilot who enjoys riding Locusts and Commandos as well as the heavier lights, I have some advice:

Deal with it.

locust is the main light mech that needs the minimum 10 heat sink removed.

5 med this is not a weapon platform... it is just a viable loadout

No.

There are already light variants that can boat more weapons than mediums. We don't need to add to that even more.

They're LIGHT mechs. You want to cram on more stuff, then move to a larger chassis.

The current light 'Mech loadouts are viable. I'd rather have the 5ML Locust with 11 HS than your 'cheater' build with 5ML and 2 AMS.

If you want more weapons, move to a heavier light. Like your 4MG 1LL 'cheater' Locust -- a Spider is better in nearly every way.

To the OP. If you find your having trouble fitting the bigger weapons, you should try a Cicada. Still fast, and one variant has ECM, but the extra tonnage makes a big difference. Shadowhawks with big XLs can also get very fast. If you're still struggling for weapon space, the Dragon with an XL360 can go 115kph, and still mount 21 tons of weaponry. Though for some reason most people aren't that fussed on it. If you still need MOAR GUNZ, then perhaps you could try the Scout Mechs of the Assault Class. The Victor, Battlemaster, and some breeds of Awesome can get up to a respectable 89kph, and still mount a half decent loadout.

Oh look, another one of these threads. When will people learn that there are some rules that are simply never going to be changed?

On a more constructive note, as has already been mentioned, there are other 'Mechs to choose from if the one you are using cannot attain the weapon package you wanted.
There are always options besides bending the rules to suit your "needs".
