and what about those huge drums of unknown liquid that you can walk over without sinking. It would force less agile mechs to pay more attention to where they are going. Would go along way to adding emersion if you could fall in and get stuck only being able to defend yourself with your arm weapons or torso missiles depending on how deep they really are, and how tall your mech is. I think getting stuck should be part of the game as long as it is something you should get stuck in

don't need to remove, make the destructible or like tree, so you can walk through them...

At low resolutions and graphic settings, the statues are invisible until you are right on top of them; which I feel causes people (experienced or not) to miss them, thus getting "stuck". The destructible terrain concept is a preferred one, similar to some lampposts on the same map, but may be too difficult to do right now. The fastest and easiest fix would be to make them "invisible" like trees. These suggestions were mentioned previously, and I second them.

Don't remove the statues, but get rid of their collision mesh so you can walk through them instead.

I voted yes. Not because I really care, but because they annoy me and saying I don't mind them is a lie.

There's a whole lot of clipping/collision issues with River City.

I think that's kind of a huge problem with all these 'urban' maps, there's way too much g-dang clutter plopped all over the place, and then the developers have a nightmare on their hands when it comes to figuring how how mechs interact with 1-foot-wide statues (like this thread mentions), or those 2-foot ledges between the citadel and the water that an Atlas can't seem to possibly step over no matter the circumstances.

I get that the detailing is meant to look 'pretty' and 'futuristic', but to me it ends up being a whole lot overkill for a lot less benefit.

Now, I'll add, there's other games that don't add nearly enough detail; I'm just saying there's a better balance to be struck, here.

These shouldn't be removed, but their hitboxes for sure! It's such a pain when your defending that town square with those in the way.

Definitively DELETE those and all other obstacles which are like 1/100 mass of my Fatlas and still can block him, coz - I dont see them from my high chair....and my FATLAS doesnt just stomp them into the ground.

Sure, some nice decorations are cool....but only WHEN we got "destroyable" maps....means...new engine...

So I think we all know and hate the statues by by the citadel in river city. Mechs of all sizes get hung up on them and are unable to move. This often leads to death or atleast being hit by an otherwise avoidable shot. I think its about time these statues go the way of the dodo. How about you?

Yeah how exactly is my 100 ton assault mech stopped by a statue? It doesn't even make sense.

I'm surprised the com guard hasn't removed the ability to comment and vote by now. I made a forum topic to remove river city night a little while back and now no one can vote or comment because the com guard said This sub-forums poll function is not intended for petitions.[color=#959595]

Also a feature removal is not a feature suggestion.

Closing!
