This is the Second Unit Event we had Recently.
EVENT: 5SSP CIRCLE OF EQUALS 2015

We’ve been dropping together as a community ever since this beautifully flawed game came out all those years ago.
From the time of sync drops to the current 12 man circuses both in Public and CW queues, we’ve fought, laughed and flooded each other’s whatsapp inboxes with messages, making friends along the way.
All that has its place, but between the veterans and new-bloods, we’ve never settled who the unit’s premier pilots are.
To thank you all for the best times I’ve had playing a Battletech/Mechwarrior game I’m organising a quick and dirty event over this weekend and sponsoring the prizes for it (although I’m not opposed if others want to chip in to defray the costs/sponsor specific categories etc..).
Hopefully this is a start of a beautiful tradition...lol.

DETAILS:
If you’re a member of 5SSP or a friend of the unit who drops regularly with us, feel free to join up.
Please register your entry in the comments below with your
1) Name
2) Pilot Callsign,
3) Account Email to receive prizes.
4) Category you wish to enter.
Entries close at 12 midnight tonight.
Matches will be held this weekend on 19th September (Saturday Night) 10pm, with each match occurring every half hour (subject to changes depending on response). If response is overwhelming, event may be split over Sat and Sun night
I do need someone with Premium Time to be on the 2nd Team (message me if you are willing).

RULES:
Each pilot can enter only one of the four categories (Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault).
No weight/config/variant restrictions within the class you have chosen (if you want to fight Datuk K’s Atlas in a Highlander or Zeus, that’s your choice).
Each pilot can additionally enter into the “Open” category. Bring whatever you want for the Open category.
1 v 1 “circle of equals” style death match with the last mech standing winning the match.
*NOTES*
Size of the circle will not be enforced but keep in mind that you are there to settle who’s the best, not play hide and seek.
Once the contenders in each class are matched off (by random ballot) and notified, you will have a chance to pick the map you will be fighting on between each other. If no decision is provided to me by match time, I will pick the map.
Depending on the numbers involved, the victorious pilot of each match will face each other until only one pilot remains.
Spectators: Given I have no idea how the spectator system works in private matches, for now it will be 9 spectators allowed per match. Goes without saying, spectators are not to interfere (so leave those ECM mechs or those with TAG at home.

So it's finally time for the Open Category. I'll be on during the day after lunch if people can arrange for their games during the day. If not the time when things will kick off will be 10.30ish tomorrow evening.
Please let me know if anyone here cannot make it or if anyone wishes to take part. We still have one slot open.

Thank you and good job to all unit members and friends for participating and sponsoring the various prizes. IronhideDDC has generously donated his Maruaders to Sourcube so I hope to see him kicking around in them from 1st December when they drop.
The finals were extremely close and I am extremely happy to see the amount of effort and the general thought given to the matches (whether it be optimised loadouts or innovative tactics). Everyone seems to have improved over the course of the competition and tiers should technically be going up based on what I've seen unless like Xenthias, you are purposefully staying in a lower tier to club baby seals.
Special thanks goes to Brian Dexian Wong aka Tenderballz and his "Wang" for the extremely entertaining edits to the videos of most of the matches. The rest of the videos will start appearing over the next week or so. If Brian is interested, I have multiple short clips of Kelembai and Ironhide duking it out pre-match which I think would look awesome if put together in one clip (if sped up and overlaid with the chicken song track, it would also be pretty amusing).
