So, if you have a Locust you like, or consider the Dragon perfectly playable, you can join our little support group and not be judged.
I'll go first:
1) Yes, I own an Awesome... Okay, TWO Awesomes... And I like playing them, despite them having a profile of a barn door and being hit by every shot fired at any angle across the map. They still make for decent fire support, and are solid LRM mechs with 15 tube volleys on most of the chassis. The key is to hide behind TWO assault mechs since you're too wide for one of them to protect you.
2) I also have TWO Thunderbolts... not just the free one... and I enjoy playing them as well. They actually play rather like baby Awesomes. Both suffer from being oversized with odd hardpoints, but both can put out good fire support. The Thuds can either mount a pair of decent LRM's or a single LRM and a high-mounted energy weapon, such as a PPC, which isn't bad. Truthfully, I was surprised to see them at Tier 5 - I figured they'd be at Tier 4.
3) I still love my little Hunchback 4G, despite it officially being terrible. A pair of machine guns fills in the extra ballistic slots... too bad triple AC2's is no longer viable, as silly as it was.
So, those of you who proudly own and use Tier 5 mechs, please share your stories!
