New Weight Based Game Mode: I think a new game mode where only the drop weight is equal would be fun... so you could be unlucky and end up facing 600 tons of only spiders...

New Campaign Game Mode: Periodically release new limited time campaign events.
  • Only certain mechs can be selected for each side based on the factions.(I.e only Clan wolf common clan on one side, and IS Marik Style mechs on the other.
  • If you play the campaign with a mech it does not repair like normal until the end of the campaign. War of attrition...
You can play as much as you want during the time, but you will start having a lot of unusable mechs.

Other optional Ideas:
  • Give a bonus to the players for being of the correct faction, and also having the correct colours.
  • Also possibility to repair mech's using money, or the players campaign points maybe...
  • Winning side gets something, players from the winning faction get more, but need to somehow limit changing factions too often... maybe can't change faction after campaign starts...
  • They should match Battletech Universe events, and possible even change the history based on the results...(Although cannon players may not like this idea...) At least the faction map should have small changes to it based on the results...
  • Campaign is world based so maps are limited to the ones that suit the world.
Details:

So for example they could release the clan wolf foothold campaign, that has 3 days of events for the battle of a certain world. The world is snow so only snow based maps, the IS Steiner outer defence forces are trying to delay the clan wolf assault on one of their outer planets, to evacuate their equipment/people etc.
You make it extremely difficult for the Inner-sphere players in the battle, limiting their mechs to light and medium for example...But on time out Inner-sphere side always wins...
The players in the campaign will start having to play with damaged mechs from previous battles, armour and ammo are resupplied but components are not. So for example you will be playing with a jaggermech with only machine guns and 1 arm at the start of the fight.
The inner-sphere player with the highest total points gets a reward.
The inner-sphere player of each allowed mech type that gets the highest points with that mech gets a reward.
The clan player/s with the highest total points gets a reward.
The clan player of each allowed mech type that gets the highest points gets a reward.
All people who participate get bonus XP and paid based on how many battles they fought...at the end of the campaign. Also reward brackets, so if you get X amount of points you get a certain reward etc...
Winning side (highest total points) gets a reward and 50%c bills reward increase for the campaign payment at the end of the campaign.(Campaign battle earn similar amounts to the normal games.)
