I love UAC5s, it is my primary weapon of choice. I like to back them up with either large or medium lasers. I am wondering what mechs people feel support these weapons the best. Primarily I am interested in mechs than can hold 2 or more UAC5, and 2 or more medium or large lasers that also have high mounted hard points. I have been using Jagermechs, Cataphracts, Shadowhawks, and Blackjacks for the most part. The Cataphracts low arms annoy me, so the Jager has been my favorite really. Any others out there I should try?

I run a Catapult K2 with 2 UAC5s and 4 MLas. Works pretty well as direct fire support.

I chain fire the UACs which seems to reduce jams.

With the UACs in the side torsos, they're mounted fairly high so you can peek over ridges pretty well.

Well you say you've already got the Jager and Blackjack covered so my next suggestion would be a Hunchback or Shadowhawk.

The Catapult K2 is also a solid choice but the K2 is the only Catapult variant with ballistics. Pretty much all others are going to have the same "low slung" problem that you have with the 'Phract,

I presonally think this one would work well. Fast, runs good armor and ammunition, and packs a decent punch.

I like the shadow hawk with a uac5 and regular ac5, so you can still fire on a jam.

These guys carrry UACs like bosses:

Atlas-DDC (2xUAC5, 3xASRM6, 2xML, STD340)

Atlas-D (2xUAC5, 2xASRM6, 4xML, STD350)

Banshee-3E (2xUAC5, 2xAC2, 4xML, STD 340)

Highlander-733C (2xUAC5, 2xLPLAS/ 2xPPC/ 2xERLL or SRM18+2xML, STD300/XL325)
(this could be the right mech for you, high mounted energy hardpoints, perfect assault sniper...)

Highlander-HM (UAC5+AC5, 3xLL/ 2xLPL/ 2xPPC or SRM12+3xML, STD300/XL330)

Orion-V (2xUAC5, 3xSRM4, 2xML, STD295)

Orion-P (2xUAC5, 2xSRM4, 3xML, STD300)

Victor S/B (2xUAC5, SRM10, 2xML, STD300/XL360)

Victor-DS (UAC5+AC5, 2xPPC/ 2xLPL / 3xERLL or SRM10+ 3ML, STD300/XL350)

Shadowhawk-2H (UAC5+AC5, 3xSRM2, 1xML, XL280)

For 2UAC+2ERLL build on a heavy, Firebrand and CTF-3D are still the best option imho... .

For raw DPS up close, nothing beats the UAC/SRM combo, and Orion/Atlas are great in that role, less as long range mechs.

Level-5 UAC5 cooldown module is good, brings the cycle on pre-nerf values (around 1,5 sec).

UAC rules !!!!

Direwolf AINEC Sure the dakka is different but for someone who loves ballistics like yourself is really missing out till you give those 4-5 uac5's with 3-4 er meds a chance to rip.

ILYA MUROMETS is great for 3x UAC5 + 3xML combo, I think this is what you looking for.

Timberwolf can run twin C-UAC 5s and 3-4 medium lasers. Its pretty nasty if you set them to chain fire and repeatedly hit the fire button, a constant stream of ac fire sends even the biggest mechs spiraling to get away.

I'd prefer the Ilya. 2 UAC/5s on the arms and two Large Lasers or ER Large Lasers on the torso for high mounts which are great for peek and shoot.

ILYA MUROMETS 2x UAC5 with 6 tons ammo and 2 ER LL with a 255 std. You can go XL and get more DHS.

I've done pretty well with this CN9-D build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4f5c3dae08debf4 Only one UAC5, though.

The MPLas can be switched to MLas to accomodate more UAC5 ammo. It's a good harasser/fire support mech. I'm not so sure about the SRM6+A. It helps when someone gets up on your face but it hasn't seen that much use.

The problem as I see it is that nearly any chassis that could make a nice weapon of a dual UAC/5 has serious problems due to both ballistic slots being crammed in the same compartment. Particularly when this is a side torso, such as is the case with the Grid Iron, this is a major problem, because you can't cram both the guns and an XL engine in. This ruins the efficiency of the DPS-to-tonnage trade. Other than the Jagermechs and the Cataphracts, almost every other chassis is kinda suboptimal except for the Protector and the ON1-V, which you should mount STD engines on anyway... And then we're heading up into the Assaults, which as we all know are only played by men without testicles...

Mentions go out to the CDA-3M, which is absolutely awesome and which should always have a UAC/5.

I haven't done much before/after with quirks...but I'll comment on the original topic.

Besides the lack of JJs, I love the Cat-K2 with DualUAC5 and either 2ERLarges or 1ERLarge and 2Meds, or maybe a PPC or similar combinations.

well as dual uacs go,Cataphract 3D is pretty good since you can do 4 mpl with decent speed and ammo in it + jump jets.

Catapult K2 is not bad for hill peeking either.

*sigh* Really? No one mentioned this?

THE KING

I run it, in addition to the above build: 2uac5's 2 ML's, LRM5// 2AC5, 2MPL, LRM5, 4 AC5's, narc

btw, four AC5's, level 5 modules range/cooldown...and quirks?
8 tons of ammo is almost not enough.
