Right now, all mechs show show the Clan names for Clan mechs (e.g. Dire Wolf) in the HUD.

It would be nicer if the HUD on Inner Sphere mechs showed the IS name for those mechs (so Daishi).

Clan mechs would obviously use the Clan names.

Your post title is a bit confusing, misleading people to think you're talking about the actual item of Clan Targeting Computers, but I understand what you mean, and yes, I too think it would be awesome.

This would be one of those touches that would really help with immersion.

I see what you mean. I don't have any Clan Mechs, so the item `Targeting Computer' is not really in my system. I've changed it in the post (can't change the thread title).

I wouldn't mind this as an option, for mech names to be based on set faction.

That'll let you change the thread title.

On a side note, this is one of many requests and I agree I'd like it too.
That's not a Timber Wolf. It's a Mad Cat!

That's not a Mad Dog. It's a Vulture! That little Vulture's just to pick me apart...

I would highly support this - though if I remember right, they had a reason they could not do it before.
That may have changed - or it may change in the future though - so keep the hope up!

In Clan Warfare, I support this.

In general queues, it makes things too confusing, particularly if you're on coms with a mixed team.

THIS WOULD BE AMAZING. There's a hundred little touches like this that seem dumb but would be worth their weight times 100 in satisfaction.

Or just giving component's a brand name in the Mechlab. That's it!
