Hopefully this will reduce the price of the lower cards, even though mine will be good for another year or two.

3 slots? dang looks like that's where my Desktop will stop upgrading at...

Actually not 3 PCI-E slots, but 3, 8-pin power connectors to supply electrical power to this graphics card.

the card weighs a ton and will require a special device to offer it an additional support, else it might very well just tear the PCIe slot apart.

No kidding. Look at the size of that freaking thing. I think if my PC saw that coming the dust mites might come running out screaming "Gojira!"

so there going with 7970 X2 like the 4870 X2 i remmeber spending an hour trying to explain to my local pc shop that i did not want 2 4870's and that it was a single card lol ^^

No official MSRP, but estimates are between $700-1200 USD.
