Aren't the 7-S's streak missiles rear mounted? Why did you put them in the front? The whole purpose of them was to shoot at lights harassing us from behind so we can focus on bigger targets infront of us instead of turning around every time to scare them off.
What gives? Or am I mistaken?

This is pretty much the problem with most mechs.
Most Cataphracts have rear mounted torso lasers.
Centurions have one rear mounted CT laser.
Quickdraws have rear mounted weapons.
This is dozens upon dozens of little thingies stacked on the front, because lets face it... there's no ability to fire rearward and so this is what they came up with.
Then again all mechs without lower arm actuators (on both arms) could flip their arms to shoot backwards.
Oh and all Atlases with CT lasers are rear-mounted CT lasers.
I wouldn't count on anything being mounted on the rear in this game. Sorry.

The Atlas's rear defense is the hypnotic hip sway it has. When that walks by, you just have to stop and stare, and maybe whistle.
And then it turns around and alphas you into the ground.
