Yes PGI have finally done it.

They have officially created their own mech variant and the proof is in the Resistance pack!

The Enforcer, the chosen medium of this pack has only ever had two variants? how is this so, this poor fellow mech will never see combat ooohhhh the Irony, only mechs with THREE variants can battle! ohh what are we ever to do T-T, wait! what's that over there! It's PGI to the rescue with their own custom variant for our abandoned comrade, surely this is a shining moment in Battletech history HUZZZAH!

sorry got a bit carried away there but this is great news, this means mechs without three variants can still be introduced into the game!

I know this is a long shot( not the mech :P) but maybe this will be the chance we may finally get our hands on the Wolfhound, a mech that needs different variants ( trust me a load of its variants are simply removing the ML in its back -.-).

Lots of mechs were left in TT with one/ two variants and PGI are now distinguishing themselves by making variants for these mechs, PGI I salute you o>

P.S. what mechs do you all want to see be made now that PGI is open to creating mech variants :)

sorry...that just makes me cringe, im not a grammar {Godwin's Law}, most stuff like that doesn't bother me...but that one...not sure why...just makes me want to claw my own eyes out.

anyway...i support and approve them making up variants. As mentioned, there are tons of mechs with a 1-2 variants, (some in timeline or some in total) continuing with this will work out so they can go into some obscure chassis and keep cranking out new stuff for a long time coming.

EDIT: lol...so the general term for a grammar.... "snob" lets say, gets autocorrected due to Godwin's Law....hilarious...well done PGI...well done
(if you don't know...look up godwin's law...if you internet...you should be familiar with it)

I actually really like the idea of the ENF-4P -- fits Davion doctrine very well, and gives the Enforcer a unique role among mediums, a medium with ballistics in both arms with all of its actuators.

They're also doing some time travel, since the PNT-10k isn't until 3051.

As is the CTF 3D, but we were in 3050 at one point.

Enforcer 5P will be interesting. Can even make it quad AC2 or *gasp* AC5... if you're willing to be a turtle.

But the most common I suspect will be dual ACs of some sort, probably class 5's. Or *gasp* dual gauss?

Someone thought this wouldn't eventually happen?

I think most of us didn't expect it to happen yet, since there are other mechs with enough variants in the timeline.

So, a third, timeline appropriate, variant of the Hammerhands isn't out of the question.

It always seemed to me that the three variants always came up naturally and they weren't actively avoiding anything.

I do not remember when - but I do seem to remember one of them commenting that there were some <3 variants chassis they wanted to add - but wanted to get through the 3+ variants chassis first

Will be nice if they finally bring in some other mechs that didn't have 3 viable timeline appropriate variants. Can't think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure some of you can name some.

PGI have been making up variants sometime after the Wang for other hero mechs.

I'm cool with PGI making up variants for mechs that don't have enough. Or mechs that have pretty much the same hard point layout across all variants.
