Change the scoring system, make it about Match Score at end of round or something. Include in the Narc & Tagging etc etc.

That wuld brign imbalance.

Yeah...except this will not serve that purpose at all. This type of event, as previously mentioned, rewards bad/selfish play. This event will in no manner shape or form allow them to see anything other than who the biggest jerks or luckiest players are. Did you even play in the last weekend of pugfail? Quickly tag as many enemies as you can with a single laser then go hide until things are about to die. No one will shoot anything unless they think they'll get the kill, meaning there's a lot of stalling and crappy play. No thank you.

that won't bring you far in the ranks, becase in th end mostly big damage is needed as well

Does your team need to win for your score to count? Just had 2 decent games in dire wolf (5 + 7 kills) but team lost..Score didn't change at all?

edit - another game, 6 kills, team won this time, still no change on my score... what gives?

It's an interesting question. Not "what am I best in", but "what am I better in than other pilots who will also choose to play that mech". I expect to see lots more Kintaro and Vindicators and many fewer Dire Wolves and Timberwolves this weekend.

Fun fun fun.

Well in that case it will still show which mechs are too terrible to even tag enemies with their one laser....

And the thing not working about your tactic is that damage is a very important factor as well.
A 6 kills 6 assists 300 dmg game gets you less score than a 2 kills 10 assists 1000 damage game.
Not even counting for hiding all the time decreasing your chance of damaging every hostile at least once......

Well anyways, one hour in and 4 mechs with just one person having played it in that time.

Didn't think some mechs were THAT hated....

You didn't play last time, obviously. Kills > Assists > damage > winning. Play in PUG queue on any day outside this weekend, then compare it to during. People will hold their fire waiting for kill shots...granted, some people would do it anyway, but FAR MORE will do it during the weekend. If they don't win, they'll just drop again, rinse and repeat until they can snipe more kills in a different match.

2 kills 10 assists 1000 damage (assuming 0 team damage and a win) is 227 points
6 kills 6 assists 300 damage (again assuming 0 team damage and a win) is 220 points
10 kills 2 assists 150 damage (same assumptions) is 250 points (fun fact...say you missed those 2 assists...still 230 points...or 210 if you end up losing)

Big damage, as I just demonstrated, isn't needed at all if you're a jerkoff killstealer...which is what will happen this weekend...again.

So let me reiterate: This weekend will not tell them anything regarding game balance or quirks. It's just a way to get people pug dropping without even attempting to play as a team.

no, you need more than just kill steals if you wanna be in the top.

So 10 games at ~250 score (2500 for those of you keeping track at home) wouldn't put you in the top? We'll see at the end of the weekend.

Also, if you get to the top by actually being a team player, don't think that I do not applaud your efforts. Just know that 90% of the people at the top, going by the averages, are going to be part of that 90% of the population who are lazy jerks...and doubly so when it comes to anything online. Why be a team player when you could maximize your score by being selfish?

In the end, my whole goal was just to point out the failed logic of those who think this will somehow tell anyone anything about balance and/or the upcoming quirk pass. It will not. Period.

Meh, you need a secondary bonus for people to chase to keep them playing all weekend.

As soon as people pull ahead on the score board, people will stop playing.

whatever you may think, its not like that it was not like that the lst time, I just played normal and its enough. try to make your 10 games at around 250 score. look at the last leaderbords, how many people actually id even beat those 2500 scores?

It was exactly like that last time. The PUG queue isn't the best place on the best of days, but during the last leaders tournament, I saw countless 'Mechs standing at the front line not firing...until all of the armor and half of the internals were gone. THEN they opened fire. In at least six or seven matches, I saw one or two 'Mechs not move up to the front at all until a couple of the targetable enemies were halfway to cored. People may think they're sneaky, but when the last one alive on your team is an Atlas at 95% loaded to the gills with SRM6s and 2xLB10x (and conspicuously full nice round numbers for ammo) and they suddenly proceed to get 8 kills...it's pretty obvious what's happening. Seriously...don't take my word for it. Just pay attention to what's going on. You'll see it.

I realize all the numbers were arbitrary, but I exaggerated things to make my point...which again, was mostly just to point out that this has NOTHING to do with balancing chassis or tuning quirks.

Gonna try this with my absolutely not-meta Shadowhawk build, see how it stacks up.

Yeah, at first I thought it just didn't work with hero mechs and tried a standard variant. Now I've been waiting for just about an hour.
