Yeah, but always hate how the "Elo" part of the match maker works. Kinda sucks to get like 12 out of 15 wins, then suddenly have to slog through 12 out of 15 losses..... Only so hard you can carry.

Honestly, I kinda wonder if it wouldn't be better to switch Elo off for the Tourneys and have it blind draw.

But either way, everyone is getting the same MM. And one might go through an even more unbalanced run.

So, it is what it is.

If you switch Elo off, there would be more roflstomps. This seems "less intuitive", but it's really simple. The more chaotic the "skill spread", the more likely a roflstomp occurs. It's almost like seeing Lords in every match, but worse. Given that "no attempt" of skill is matched, there can only be more "lopsidedness".

It's like you have some sort of explosive substance (MM), and then you decide to put kerosene all over the place (removal of Elo), and hope the place doesn't explode (the players).

That is the best analogy I can come up at the moment.

Well, you are not alone, lol.

It's just funny...how desperately he needs to prove himself, that the one time he kills me.....it's monumental to him. Pretty sad, actually. Kinda glad I live in a foreign country. Kinda worried he'd be lurking outside my house, next.

It's a personal hobby of mine to deflate the egos of "social generals", especially bad ones who hide behind their rank and file then try to take all the glory.... since you constantly fit that description, I guess you could consider me the thorn in your side. I haven't found anyone with a bigger ego yet, so you've always been the target. :P

To be fair we only lost one. And had a rebellion.

By 3145 we're cutting off a huge chunk of Davion space.

We were the last Star Lord, and the first Star Lord in 500 years.

Keep trying, you might get there someday ;)

Thats what happens when youre the smallest House with an intelligence service everyone loathes and arrogant littlemen as House Lords.

We Laio warriors benefit from this in that were never short of targets.

Good portion of this is all about kill steals and getting all 12 assists moreso than anything else. Hence some of the top in some chassis just fielding otherwise awful LRM builds or lights that spend the entire game waiting still by the dire whales for a chance to run out and grab a kill. I imagine a Locust could do relatively well at this.

Something based on "most damage done to killed mech" would make more sense in my mind.

yeah, right because kill stealing gives you high damage numbers, too...

If you look at the locust leaderboards and maybe have the joy to play with and against some of those players you wouldn't call that simple kill stealing. Those guys are awesome ;)

I've been going at it with Jenners for a while and am close to wanting to burn down a kitten orphanage, so I'm relatively well aware of what it's like. Damage numbers can be misleading. Hiding until an enemy is in a position to start going down then just chilling out and firing at it without any risk of being shot nets you ridiculously high damage numbers as a light. That's still simple kill-stealing, and hell I'm having to do it too with cutting out time strafing and skirmishing so I can run across the field to join in on killing an isolated mech.

Lights also have some advantages for this challenge in that they can more easily get the 12 required assists. It's at the point where a 5 kill 4 assist game goes in the garbage because of the missed assists.

And I've dropped with some of them constantly. It's frequently about playing stupidly and getting awful results for 9.8/10 matches until that one match where your stupidly aggressive play actually pays off. And even then it usually needs to be on the right map (small and cold) and with the right mix of players.
