Hello Mechwarriors,

since the other CN9-AH Threads were about optimal builds, i started this new one..

I am looking for a CN9-AH build to have a bit of fun without spending any cbills on it...

I am currently running this Build:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b3f4a45b3453ef4
XL210 Ac10(2 1/2t) 2xMG(1t) 3xLRM5(2t) 10SHS
No DHS / Endo / FF

Engine is a leftover from my RVN-3L, it's horrible slow and pretty fragile, but it frees up a lot of tonnage.

Swapped the AC20 for an Ac10:
less Weight, More range, less heat, more shots/ton

3xlrm5: with only 360 missiles (72x5 / 24x15) i mostly use these with LOS or when i can be pretty sure that they will find their target..
When there are a lot of AMSs i save em for later or try to sync my shots with my teammates

Added 2 MG for crit seeking...

Playstyle:
I keep around the assaults and heavies and support them with a few missiles.
When they engage in brawls i follow up and use my ballistics.

Heat is a problem but still manageable
Firepower is nearly okayish
Armor is near max.

Main Problems:
Lack of Ammo
Low Speed
Durabilty

Do you have any suggestions for Improvement? (Armor distrubution, Ammo Storage etc.)

What are your cheap CN9-AH Builds?

Running it with the XL275 you can currently get for "free" by buying the Shadowhawk 5M.
2xUAC5 in the arm, no other weapons just lots of rounds.
You need endo steel (not that expensive) but can without a problem avoid DHS thanks to the low heat of the Autocannons.

Been doing surprisingly good with it

I'm running this for now

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4a882e725384c9b

It does alright but I'm really looking forward to getting it elited. The AC20 can be swapped out directly for the AC10+2MG combo that you mentionned in your post and it also works decently but the AC20 lends itself a bit better to the torso twisting and defending with the left arm.

Nyuu's idea is basically what i've been doing, although I had a problem on terra therma, it is actually possible to overheat just by firing UAC5s (if you have standard heatsinks). Normally you can ignore heat all together using AC5s/UAC5s. It is a pretty effective build, as centurion builds go.

Well, if you want something cheap that can do well by hugging bigger mechs, try something like this:

http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab#i=8&l=159057a662e24b4995d8244ab5c4e4b0e392111b

DHS are optional (but still recommended for hot maps), since your UACs run pretty cool. It's slow, but you don't spend money on a new engine. Endo is kind of a must though.

Ultras do GREAT damage, and you can twist to soak damage with your shield arm and torso. The SRM2s are also pretty decent damage for the tonnage, and make for a nice boost to your punch if something gets in close and you want to hammer it.

If you do have cbills to spend, though, I'd recommend some upgrades. I've currently been averaging around 400-500 damage on my AH that looks like this:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d75e11d5166d3c1

Even without eliting it, the mech is solid. The AH is the only cent I own, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorite mediums.

Thanks for your answers!

I ran my build a couple of matches yesterday and it went suprisingly well, several matches over 400dmg

I am considering going at least for endo and try a dual uac build, something like this:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6330ab3404692b8
xl275 2uac5 (5 1/2 t) 10 SHS

But DHS must wait, got to buy one more raven to Master my 3L

And then i need an assault mech for the up-coming dropship-mode

Next in List are a couple of cooldown modules

Thats basically why i asked for a cheap CN9-AH Buid, because i focus first on getting a decent 230t-240t drop of 4 mechs togehter...

CN9-AH

It's a butt assassin. I've been running it for the last three days, already mastered and has a 3.56 KDR and 554 avg damage per match.

Come at me lights!

Switched over from a 3SRM4+AC20 build which has a nice punch but felt awkward. Having the streaks has been fun these last few matches and being more focused on the AC20 as my main offensive punch has helped with my accuracy.

Hmm, well I got an XL 275 lying around in my inventory. I'm thinking of using it as top engine with triple AC/2. Certainly not very viable but, it's not like there's any other better build for this mech other than the STD 275, triple MGs and triple SRM6s.

For cheap, you can't really neglect ES and DHS. It's just mandatory for most builds. I can't really think of anything "cheaper" for you since being cheap means gimping yourself.

Figured if you're going to run with XL you might as well put your ammunition in your STs. I like using LB10X more than the AC10 'cause it frees up a ton and a crit slot. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...784795b982acef5

I tried the tripple AC2's, too much heat.

I've been running the LB10x as well. For some reason, it just works for me.

The alternative "cheap" option is to just slap in triple SRM6s and triple MGs. If you do it right in brawling, you could rake in a lot of credits.

Consider this as an example: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...907e876cf5c72e8

I will say to all those srm builds that they are simply not effective without double heat sink and thus not cheap.....
