I just realised... this picture...


... is actually the interior of this ship - or one like it atleast! Thats why it has the 2 doors on each side and the doors in the floor.

Actually I like my drop ship. Always hoping they could implement it into CW somehow, as in the interior...

Since we are already in a dropship bay, shouldn't PGI be selling drop cradles and not bays?

If it's a drop ship, then the "fee" must be for custom stretching the ship like a limousine. Mine only has 56 bays...

I don't even know how big mine is I am pretty sure its a spheroid though a huge one probably cannot land.

I figured it was a dropship, but I thought it was those dropships we see crashed around the game.....besides, we even get cockpit item of that dropship.....whodathunk it? We get a bigger dropship...

But then again, how do we fit mechs into those small ones in game?

All my mechs are right by dropship door number 4 it seems.

I wanna know why the damn dropship can only drop 4 mechs tonnage maxed at 240, but the other one can carry 50+ mechs! that seems like a continuity error

It would be cool if PGI expanded on that dropship to kinda have a sort of revolving dropship bay. We click one mech, it revolves to bay 1, click another it revolves around to bay 3...and we can freely scroll around viewing the inside of our hangar.

Think about PGI, more money to be made if they sold us Dropship hangar cosmetics and stuff...cuz why not>...

An elevator or crane delivering your chosen mech from an upstairs storage hanger down to the ready hanger

why is it not a hangar? its actually a hangar bay in a ship, but doesn't makes it less hangar for me.

? whats the issue to wonder about?
Said picture above shows it, such a bay, has 4 places to fix a mech, therefore only 4 fit in, no matter what tonnage you are below the 240. And 240 is maybe the max laod the ship can bring into ari, so not more, like 4xatlas. Other dropships are giant in size and have more of these locations.

A colossus Class DropShip can Carry 36 Mechs and 72 Heavy Vehicles. It is/was teh largest Dropper capable of landing the last I read about Dropships.

Please stop making these threads. It reminds me of what this game could have been, but probably will never be. I'm not even pointing fingers at this point, it's possible PGI just never had the money and expertise to do what they wanted.

But it still breaks my heart to think about a game where we had an actual hangar based on that concept sketch, where we could see our mechs, side by side, with their different camo patterns and colours. And a game where the 4 quick selection mechs were mechs actually placed in a dropship as pictured in the OP, ready to be deployed. Locked in berths, ready to be dropped like this:

Well, the place on an Aircraft Carrier where the aircraft are stored is call the "Hanger Deck", and since BT ships use naval terms, I think they would likely still use Hanger Deck for where the mechs are stored. So it is in fact a Hanger, just one on a ship.

I geuss the mechbay is the device in a hangar where the mech is attached to, se the vid in the thread.
