We live in grand times, the inheritors of the grandest experiment in self-determination seen since mankind first set his first tentative steps among the stars. We are benefactors of the largest republic ever seen in the Inner Sphere, the only nation where the common man has a say in who shall rule him, where the reign of the head of state comes with an expiration date and is not an office handed down by birth, but by merit.
Democracy that is - in theory at least. But let's look at reality:

Faction Players
As a Faction Player, loyalty points are earned by playing and winning matches. As the player accumulates loyalty points, they will gain a military faction rank at pre-determined loyalty point totals. If a player loses LPs by decay or negative actions, they will be demoted.
Gaining ranks earns special privileges and items, including membership to special units, unit skins, and bonuses to C-Bills and XP. These are all non-permanent and subject to the player maintaining a certain rank level. At the highest possible levels, players can begin to influence their faction by controlling which planets are targeted in territory conquest.
Maybe I possibly exaggerate a tiny little bit but we have to fight this dictatory system!
That system works quite well for the other houses.
Here is my suggestion for House leadership:
Free Rasalhague Republic: Decisions should be made using polls in faction threads
House Kurita: Leader is the player with the most kills.
House Steiner: Leader is the person to pay the most RL money to Piranah Games
House Davion: Use the loyalty point system
House Liao: Leader is the first player to join the faction - and then his first born son
House Marik: Leader should be Paul
Parliamentary Confederacy (operating under
militaryPaul's rule)
