so i'm confused. Is lord Ikka a ronin, planning to go against his lords will? The Draconis Combine totally supports the FRR claims and in the timeline has just ceded a buncha our heritage worlds back to us - Any supposed DCs attacking FFR in this time frame don't even have to be countered by FFR, DC leadership sends troops to killem right?

We only supported the claim so that we could get some breathing room from the Federated Commonwealth. We will soon want our planets back... ;)

The same "berserkers" who revolutionized the art of war while you were busy perfecting the art of ritual suicide.

Seppuku allows a warrior who has failed to die with honor. But the Nordic races did do a good job of raiding and pillaging, better than anyone on their side of the planet at the time.

Doesn't matter...
Way I see it, the FRR has a policy of treating Kurita and Steiner equally, right? Equal trade balance and all that.

That means, if the DC does decide to come a-knocking with blood in their eye, once we kick them back out, that means we have to go smash some Steiners to make up for it, maybe raid some whiskey distilleries while we're there.

Sounds like a return to tradition for me.

Actually, I was referring to the thirty year's war and adoption of firearms a the main infantry weapon and the implementation of true combined arms tactics etc. introduced by Gustavus Adolphus.

Good point. Of course Gustavus was also killed leading a calvary charge, which is really the opposite of what a commanding general and king ought to be doing in a battle.

There are benefits to leading from the front lines. There are also drawbacks, as he learned the hard way.

We live in grand times, the inheritors of the grandest experiment in self-determination seen since mankind first set his first tentative steps among the stars. We are benefactors of the largest republic ever seen in the Inner Sphere, the only nation where the common man has a say in who shall rule him, where the reign of the head of state comes with an expiration date and is not an office handed down by birth, but by merit.

Democracy that is - in theory at least. But let's look at reality:

Faction Players

As a Faction Player, loyalty points are earned by playing and winning matches. As the player accumulates loyalty points, they will gain a military faction rank at pre-determined loyalty point totals. If a player loses LPs by decay or negative actions, they will be demoted.
Gaining ranks earns special privileges and items, including membership to special units, unit skins, and bonuses to C-Bills and XP. These are all non-permanent and subject to the player maintaining a certain rank level. At the highest possible levels, players can begin to influence their faction by controlling which planets are targeted in territory conquest.

Maybe I possibly exaggerate a tiny little bit but we have to fight this dictatory system!
That system works quite well for the other houses.

Here is my suggestion for House leadership:
Free Rasalhague Republic: Decisions should be made using polls in faction threads

House Kurita: Leader is the player with the most kills.

House Steiner: Leader is the person to pay the most RL money to Piranah Games

House Davion: Use the loyalty point system

House Liao: Leader is the first player to join the faction - and then his first born son

House Marik: Leader should be Paul
Parliamentary Confederacy (operating under militaryPaul's rule)

Why should Marik get Paul when Trolls are definitely a Scandinavian monster?

Our leader is the glorious Dragon. Only through his will and wisdom are we lifted up to a higher rank.

don't quote platitudes when if you follow his directives he castrates your agression towards us. you wanna go in game? fine. But look up the lore fore the period. The DC leadership actually do send real good units to smack the DC units attacking FFR and go out of their way to not have FFR units help. you wanna play ronin fine, go ahead, acknowledge it. the FFR will smack you down regardless but just don't pretend its the will of your Lord

The Coordinator directs us to not attack the FRR, but that doesn't mean we can't have backup plans.

Eh, Takashi is a puppet at this point, he's been marginalized. Theodore is the real ruler.

All was well and fine in the FRR until a certain, lets call them faction, started to openly declare their intent to defect and attack us.

I would not worry to much Wrede. Friendly fire is a common occurrence on the battlefield... This so called "faction" you speak of will soon learn their is nothing friendly about "Friendly fire"...... ;)
