Hello everyone as a start id like to express that this thread is open to any opinions and ideas towards this subject, now with that out of the way lets begin.

Faction warfare looks to be on the horizon and i wanted to discuss some ideas to even out the playing field and also making things interesting. I beleive we should have a drop weight limit per 4 mechs dropping on feild of 240 tons, forcing players to bring 3-4 diffrent class mechs to the table and limiting things such as dropping with 4 daka wolfs and so on so forth.

But also it would be awsome if scenarios could be played on maps to be conquerd, like a planet has 4 phases per conquest 1st phase would be an advanced team of mechs in a small dropship (carrying a max of maybe 120 tons) would have to be droped in a team of 4 pilots to create a beach head against a defending force and takeing out the planets guns so your buddys in space may land, and many other possibilitys that could make it interesting instead of just 12v12 or 8v8 matches over and over again.

Also Limiting the weight of Drops and such will make it so theres more vareity in teams such as you want to have a heavy slughammer 6 man lance with 3 light mechs (6 atlas and 3 Ravens for example) you would have access to only nine pilots but could out ton a 12 man team and haveing access to more weps but the enemy team could easily overwhelm you, that would bring a surprise factor per drop. but thats my ideas on the topic id like to hear anyone elses aswell! persistant FW is the goal!!

The idea of light mech, medium mech drops has been around for a while for recon or scouting. That they may use the dropship mode weight cap is an excellent idea. They could even go for heavier drops in capital world battles for example also.

Also the 8v8 mentioned in op even adds more options to the idea of border world skirmishes or recon.

Well, if Steiner doesnt get a 400ton drop weight then PGI is doing it wrong.
